[16508] Jerusah is daughter of Ebenezer Day and Hannah Downing. Ancestry.com offers: "Day Name Meaning - English: from a pet form of David. English: from the Middle English personal name Day(e) or Dey(e), Old English Dæi, apparently from Old English dæg 'day', perhaps a short form of Old English personal names such as Dægberht and Dægmund. Reaney, however, points to the Middle English word day(e), dey(e) 'dairy maid', '(female) servant' (from Old English d?ge, cognate with Old Norse deigja 'female servant', ultimately from a root meaning 'to knead', and related to the word for dough), which he says came to be used for a servant of either sex. Irish: Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Deaghaidh (see O'Dea). Scottish: from an Anglicized form of the Gaelic personal name Daìdh, a colloquial form of David. Welsh: from Dai, a pet form of the personal name Dafydd, Welsh form of David."

[25778] K. Edward Lay's web site reports that Clemans (Jr) was "Pvt in Revolutionary War and the Berks Co Militia ( PA ARCHIVES, v. 4, p. 257)" and cites many references. Lay also quotes The Dunkelberger Family: Europe to America 1600-1982": "Clement Dunkelberger, Jr., son of Clement and Anna Maria (Hauer) Dunkelberger, was born circa 1752...in Windsor Twp (Berks)...no specific dob and much speculation...because he inherited his father's estate, many thought he was the eldest son...but that cannot fit the dates...it would seem that Clement Jr was actually the youngest son...he was the only son living at home when Clement wrote his will...stipulated that Clement, Jr. was to pay off the other heirs...Clement, Jr. was a private in the Revolutionary War, serving in the Berks Co Militia...may have been injured because he was said to have received 470 pounds depreciated pay when discharged...reported to have fought in the battles of Germantown, Brandywine, White Marsh and Valley Forge...was on the tax list of Berks Co in 1775 so he had to have been at least 21 years old by then (born before 1754)...inherited his father's estate in 1782...paid tax on 200 acres, 2 horses and four cows...in 1787, he paid non-resident taxes on 300 acres in Mahonoy Twp (Northumberland)...where his older brothers settled circa 1781...at Bear Gap, near Shamokin...said that Clement, Jrs sons all went to Perry County btwn 1812 and 1816...On 3 Mar 1801, Clement and Anna Maria sold land in Windsor Twp to sons Jonathon and John for 1,500 pounds in gold and silver for over 300 acres...Clement died some time between3 Mar 1801 and 22 Jul 1801...have not been able to locate his grave...this family spelled their name as Dunkleberger."
