It being much nearer his home, he with his family as well many others of the Reformed faith in that vicinity, transfered his mambership to that church. and has held offices in the church and he held office in the church continuously until the past year. Mr. Burnheisel lived up to the full measure of his christian privileges. He stood for the best in his church membership, was a most liberal giver, a constant attendant at devine services as long as health permitted and was recognized as a pillar if strength among among the membership of the church. As a man Mr. Bernheisel was respected by all who knew him. His word was his bond and was never questioned. He was generous and open hearted and the poor of the community found him most giving. A man of recognized sound judgement, his council was often sought. He held local offices on a number of occasions and in politics he was an avowed Republican, but liberal in his views, supporting only those men and measures he deemed worthy. Funeral services were held at St. John's Church, Elliotsburg. The funeral was one of the most attended ever held in that section attesting to his high esteem in which the departed was held. - Taken from the 'Peoples Advocate & Press, New Bloomfield, Perry County, Pa.
