Obituary: "William Thomas Piper, 77, of Fayetteville, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning at his home. He had been in ill health the past three months.
"Mr. Piper was born December 12, 1868, in Franklin County, the son of the late Martin and Ellen Eckenrode Piper. He resided in Amberson Valley in his early life. For the past ten years, he had lived in Fayetteville. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Amberson .
"Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nancy Culbertson; six sons and a daughter: Lloyd W. Chambersburg; James M. of R.R. 3; William T. of R.R. 1; Mervin F. of R.R. 2; Howard T. and Louis H. Piper and Mrs. Paul Test, all at home; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
"The funeral will be held Friday afternoon, with the cortege meeting at Seller funeral home at 1:15 o'clock, and services at the Methodist Church at Amberson at 2:30 o'clock. Revs. Elwood Bair and J.S. Weeks will officiate. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.
"Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock Thursday evening."
