http://www.eaves-klinger-genealogy.info/p208.htm provides further ancestry and genealogy, and offers: "According to the Naturalization Records Nicolas Brosius of Bethel township, Berks County became a citizen on September 15, 1765. Although when Nicolas first visited Schwaben Creek Valley is unknown; there is a Deed recorded in the Northumberland County Court-House, in book U, page 234, from which this abstract is taken: 'Jacob Dielman yeoman of York County, to Nicolas Brosius, of Bethel township, yeoman of the other part. The Land, the Honorable Proprietors of the province, by their Warrant, date January 20, 1755 granted unto George Stump; situated in the Blue Hills in Berks County, adjoining the lands of George Reit (Reitz) and John Shaffer, containing 200 acres. Being the same land, George Stump by his Indenture of August 6, 1768, conveyed to Jacob Dielman. Now, March 9, 1772, Jacob Dielman in consideration of the sum of 37 pounds and 10 shillings, bargains and conveys same to Nicolas Brosius.' About a year and a half after he purchased his plantation , the Proprietors of the Province, on November 4, 1773, granted a Warrant to Nicolas Brosius and George Reitz for 50 acres of land, to include a church being built there for the use of the Lutheran and Calvinist Congregations."
The log church and a log-schoolhouse were built the following year. Nicolas Brosius and Peter Ferster were elected the first Deacons of the Lutheran Congregation. Nicolas and Anna Barbara, with their children, were frequently mentioned in the Communion and other church records; and could have been very influential in naming of the church Himmel.
By an Indenture, recorded in Northumberland County Deed book, U, page 235, dated May 22, 1795, Nicolas Brosius conveyed property to his son, John Nicolas Brosius, Jr., for the sum of twenty shillings, and other considerations. With reference to the property which Nicolas had purchased, in 1772, from Jacob Dielman.
Nicolas did not leave a Will; at least none was recorded.

Rose Lee Head's posting in http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com in 2015 states he may have instead been born in Northumberland Co., PA. and offers: "After John Nicholas and Anna Barbara were married. they lived for several years in Tulpehocken Twp., Berks Co.,Pa.,as Nicholas was a taxpayer in the twp. in 1759. He attended the Altalaha Lutheran Church in Rehrersburg, Berks Co., Pa. in 1760. On January 29, 1762, a news item appeared in the Sowers Newspaper referring to Nicholas Brosious, from 'Beyond the Blue Mountains.' A item of interest is that the people of Pennsylvania, called their mountains by colors. Note: June Parr from Brosius Family Message Board, Family History.com. Nine children were baptized at Schwaben Creek Church Northumberland County, Pa. Married: 19 Apr 1752 in Records of Rev John Casper Stoner, Berks, Co. Catharina Brosius was born in Berks Co., Pennsylvania one year after Nicholas on Sept 15, 1753. Her father, John Nicholas Brosius, was also born in Pennsylvania but her paternal grandfather, Johan George Brosius, was born in Weierbach, Germany. As indicated in Figure 2, the Brosius family can be traced back to Conrad Brosius who was born around 1639 in Germany. For further information on the Anna Catharina Brosius' ancestors, we recommend a book on the Brosius Family by David Becker. They settled in the Schwaben Creek Valley in 1772. Nicholas was one of the founders of the Himmel Church. - Elsie Klinger Eaves"
