[24103] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 14 November 1911, p. 9: "Castine, Me., Nov. 13 - Mr. William Colson one of Castine's most respected citizens passed away on Sunday dimming at his home on Dyer's Lane. Mr. Colson had not been feeling well for some time but kept about his work until Thursday when he was obliged to give up and gradually grew worse until the hour of his death. Mr Colson was 65 years of age and was bom in Castine and has spent his entire life in his home town. Thirty years of his early life was spent in working in the brick yards which used to be running at Hatch's Cove. After which he had employment with Mr. J. W. Dresser in the twine factory, it being situated on Pleasant street. And he has been employed with Mr. E. H. Carpenter, Mr. Dresser's successor, up to the time of his sickness on Thursday last. Mr, Colson was an esteemed citizen, a loving husband and a kind father and will be greatly missed by many friends. He leaves a widow and three children, Mrs. Robert Connor of Castine, Mr. Levi Colson of Castine and Mr. William Colson of Winter Harbor, also one brother, Mr. George Colson, who all have the sympathy of the entire community in their sudden and sad breavement."
[12283] Joan, living in 1348, is daughter of Henry de Atherton of Atherton and Emma de Aintree, and a descendant of William de Atherton of Atherton.
