[52240] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 19 November 2022": "Winter Haven, FL - Mary 'Eileen' Perkins, 91, of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, passed away on October 5, 2022. Eileen was born in May 20, 1931, to Joseph 'Leo' Lapointe and Leona Lapointe in Sea Side, New Brunswick, Canada. She was the second child of four children. The family moved to Maine in 1936. Eileen was predeceased by her beloved family members; her mother and father, her husband Derward W. Perkins; her sisters, Evangeline Burnett and Jeanne Smith; her brother, Larry Lapointe; her sons, Wayne A. Perkins and James 'Jimmy' Perkins. She is survived by her children, Randall and Diane Perkins of Bangor, Maine, Gary Perkins and Diana de los Santos of San Antonio, Texas, and Lee and Sheila Anderson of Winter Haven, FL; her grandchildren, Frank and Adrienne Rauccio, Michelle Eileen Frye, Tyler Barringer and Samantha Perkins, and Gregoy Perkins; and her great-grandchildren, James and Breana Ingram, Trey Cooper, Isabella Frye, Silas Perkins, Blake Barringer, Jackson Barringer, Tyler Hoagland, Brenley Hoagland, Roman Rauccio; and many nieces and nephews. Everyone was special to Eileen. Family was everything to her. She married her husband Derward in Guilford, Maine in 1947 and they had five children together before he passed in 1970. Derward was a Senior Master Sargent in the U.S. Air Force. Eileen was a great military wife, constantly moving across the United States and Canada and bravely holding down the home front while Derward was deployed overseas to Japan for a year and then again to Thule, Greenland. Their final move together in 1964 was to Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where he retired from the Air Force. After her husband's sudden death Eileen finished raising her children by herself, the youngest child only 4 years old. She never remarried. She was a strong and wonderful woman. Her home was always open to her children's friends as they were growing up. There was always room for one more at her plentiful table. She was known for her great cooking and singing while she cooked. You could hear her throughout the house and knew something tasty was being prepared. She was also famous for her contagious laugh, always laughing and chatting with everyone she met. She moved from Maine to Winter Haven, FL in 1976 with her youngest son Gary. She loved to dance particularly the Jitterbug and Polka. For many years she loved to attend the afternoon tea dances at the Winter Haven American Legion, often accompanied by her long time friend and neighbor from Dover Foxcroft, Maine, Greta Lanpher. She had a lot of fun, memories and friends at these Legion dances. She also loved to sing especially with her two sisters, Evangeline and Jeanne. When they were young the pretty trio 'the LaPointe Sisters' would occasionally entertain at small town grange halls and school functions. And what would a birthday be without a phone call from her singing Happy Birthday to you! Until she was 90, she often could be seen sporting around town in her little yellow Thunderbird Sports car. Another example of her outgoing and youthful spirit. Eileen was a much loved, unique and cherished woman and will be missed everyday forever. She will be put to rest next to her husband and two sons at the family plot in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine."

[41634] See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Talbot,_1st_Earl_of_Shrewsbury which states "He was descended from Richard Talbot, a tenant in 1086 of Walter Giffard at Woburn and Battledsen in Bedfordshire. The Talbot family were vassals of the Giffards in Normandy. Hugh Talbot, probably Richard's son, made a grant to Beaubec Abbey, confirmed by his son Richard Talbot in 1153. This Richard (d. 1175) is listed in 1166 as holding three fees of the Honour of Giffard in Buckinghamshire. He also held a fee at Linton in Herefordshire, for which his son Gilbert Talbot (d. 1231) obtained a fresh charter in 1190. Gilbert's grandson Gilbert (d. 1274) married Gwenlynn Mechyll, daughter and sole heiress of the Welsh Prince Rhys Mechyll, whose armorials the Talbots thenceforth assumed in lieu of their own former arms. Their son Sir Richard Talbot, who signed the Barons' Letter, 1301, held the manor of Eccleswall in Herefordshire in right of his wife Sarah, sister of William de Beauchamp, 9th Earl of Warwick. In 1331 Richard's son Gilbert Talbot (1276-1346) was summoned to Parliament, which is considered evidence of his baronial status - see Baron Talbot. Gilbert's son Richard married Elizabeth Comyn, bringing with her the inheritance of Goodrich Castle. John Talbot was born in 1383 at Black Mere Castle near Whitchurch, Shropshire, as second son of Richard Talbot, 4th Baron Talbot, by Ankaret le Strange, 7th Baroness Strange of Blackmere. His younger brother Richard became Archbishop of Dublin and Lord Chancellor of Ireland : he was one of the most influential Irish statesmen of his time, and his brother's most loyal supporter during his often troubled years in Ireland. Their birthplace is now a scheduled monument listed as Blakemere Moat, site of the demolished fortified manor house. His father died in 1396 when Talbot was just nine years old, and so it was Ankaret's second husband, Thomas Neville, Lord Furnival, who became the major influence in his early life. The marriage also gave the opportunity of a title for her second son as Neville had no sons with the title going through his eldest daughter Maud, who would become John's first wife." Cf.
