[50612] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 12 April 2020": "Milbridge - Vilora Hortense 'Tensie' Hutchins, 93, passed peacefully on April 9, 2020, at Seaport Village in Ellsworth, Maine. She was born February 17, 1927, in Milbridge, Maine to Wilbur and Vera Freeman. Hortense graduated from Milbridge High School. After graduating, she earned her nursing degree at Eastern Maine Hospital while serving in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp in 1948. he worked in local nursing homes, hospitals, and was a travelling nurse before becoming a resident nurse at Winter Harbor Naval Station, where she eventually retired after 25 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting and quilting, and relished the outdoors. You could find her gardening or mowing the lawn on her John Deere on a sunny day. Hortense enjoyed social gatherings, which included the Thursday Club (a lady's church group) for which she baked, quilted and knit. She also loved to play bingo. Family was very dear to her. She was ready to join in and assist in any way she could. Hortense will be remembered for first aid care of neighborhood children and families. Hortense is survived by three sons: Barry Hutchins (Karen), Terry Hutchins (Patricia), and Wilbur Hutchins (Bridget). Eight grandchildren: Brent, Kellen, Jessica, Jennifer, Jordyn, Kendyl, Quinn, and Evan. Seven great-grandchildren: Elaine, Willis, Daniel, Emily, Van, Jackson, and Ivy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Willis 'Bill' Hutchins, son Roy Hutchins, three sisters: Wilma Sargent, JoAnne Smith, and Vera Helen Robertson and brother, James Freeman."

[20255] "Goodland Republic [Goodland, Kansas], 24 March 1921," p. 1: "Magnolia Harrington, daughter of David and Polly Harrington, was born at Princeton, Missouri January 14, 1877 and died at her home in Goodland, Kansas, March 19, 1921, aged 44 years, 2 months and 5 days. When a child she moved with her parents to Franklin county, Nebraska, and from there to Sherman county, Kansas, where she grew to womanhood. She was converted when a child and united with the Methodist church of which she remained a faithful member. Her greatest joy was in the loving service she could render for her loved ones and in doing some good deed for her neighbors. July 22, 1892 she was united in marriage to C. M. Harding and to this union 14 children were born, one dying in infancy, and of the 13 children living she leaves a little baby two weeks of age. She wanted to live and be with her family a little longer and she strove hard agamst the hour of parting. Her loved ones felt that her hour was not yet come and every effort was made to save her life. But, weary and worn, she fell asleep, her earthly toils are ended and mother dear is crowned at last. Besides her family she leaves an aged mother, 4 brothers, Ed Harrington of Fowler, Colorado; Fred Harrington of Brandom, Colorado, William Harrington of St. Francis, Kansas, Harry Harrington of Parsons, Kansas, other relatives and many friends to mourn her death. Services were conducted in the home Sunday at 3:00 p, m. by M. R. Starbuck, and interment was made in the Goodland cemetery."

[948] Surname perhaps Westgate. Nickerson (see collection of MSS at NEHGS) believed this Thomas, r. Berwick, ME in 1725 with wife Mary, is progenitor. Deeds indicate his son, Thomas, r. Berwick in 1745 & 1749, Phillipston (now Sanford) 1751-59, in Penobscot (1761-63), Mount Desert Island and (in 1770) Gran Manan Island - r. again Mount Desert Island, 1776-95, and gone from the . tax roll after 1798. The LDS Church's Pedigree Resource File (CD 19, PIN 55553) reports Thomas m. ca. 1718/20 Mary Crommett in Portsmouth, NH. They also had a daughter, Mary, who m. 20 March 1726 in Berwick to John Morgan ("Downeast Ancestry", April, 1978, p. 17). In 1983 Dave Swett of Orrington, Me stated "There is speculation that ... Thomas COULD POSSIBLY have been the son of Thomas Westgate (btp 20 April 1663). He had a son bpt May 1689 named Thomas. The Thomas (bpt 1663) was the son of Captain Adam Westgate and Mary who was a master mariner along the coast. This comes from the history of Salem by Sidney Perley vol. 2."
