[59350] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 15 May 2025: "Millinocket, Maine - James R. Barnes Jr., 78, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 9, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 30, 1946, in Bangor, Maine, the son of James Barnes Sr. and Alberta (Trafton) Barnes. Jim grew up in Millinocket and graduated from Stearns High School in 1965. He was a proud member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. He played multiple sports in high school, excelled in basketball, and was a proud 1963 New England Championship team member. In August 2019, he was inducted into the New England and the State of Maine Basketball Hall of Fame. Jim served in the Army from 1968 to 1971, receiving a Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He worked for many years at the Great Northern Paper Company. After retirement, he pursued his love for the outdoors as an avid kayaker and white-water raft guide for the Kennebec and Penobscot Rivers. He also shared his passions with others, coaching youth hockey and little pro basketball. Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deborah (Fish) Barnes. He has two sons, Christopher Barnes and his wife, Brenda, and Brian Barnes and his wife, Amy. He is also survived by his brother, Terry Barnes and his wife, Deborah; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one nephew."

[3981] http://home.planet.nl/~voort359/home3bgncy.html gives Lancelin's wife as Alberge (not verified). http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/CENTRAL%20FRANCE.htm offers: "Son of Lancelin according to Orderic Vitalis, who says that his mother was the daughter of the Comte de Maine, which appears to result from confusion with the wife of his brother Jean. 'Domna Agnes comitissa' [wife of Geoffroy II 'Martel' Comte d´Anjou] bought 'ecclesiam Sancti-Beati . . . juxta . . . castrum Vindocini' from 'Lancelino dominico vasso de castro Balgentiaco' and 'apud Castrum-Dunum alteram ecclesiam' from 'filiis eiusdem Lancelino . . . Johanne et Lancelino' by charter dated to before 1040. His parentage is confirmed by the charter dated 12 Apr 1067 under which his sister 'Adeleldis uxor Joscelini Bodelli cognominati' donated land 'ad locum . . . Rocius' to La Trinité de Vendôme for her husband´s burial, with the consent of 'Lancelini de Balgentiaco et Hervei de Lavarzino fratrum suorum'. Seigneur de Baugency. 'Lancelinus miles . . . de Baugenciaco' donated donated 'ecclesiam . . . prope murum castri mei . . . honore Sancti Sepulchri' to La Trinité de Vendôme, for the souls of '. . . filii mei Radulphi', the charter dated [2 Feb/1 Jun] 1079, signed by 'Radulfo filio ipsius Lancellini et sorore eius . . . Herveo fratre ipsius Lancelini de Lavarzino . . .'. Under a charter dated 30 Nov 1092, it is noted that 'Lanscelinus Belvacensis' wrongly claimed property rights over Sainte-Croix d'Orléans and that 'defuncto . . . Lanscelino, Lanscelinus filius eius' repeated the claims. The necrology of Vendôme La Trinité records the death 'XIII Kal Dec' of 'Landricus qui et Lancelinus fundator Sancti Sepulcri de Balgenciaco'. The name of Lancelin's wife is not known."

[23070] NEHGR, April, 2000, p. 223 reports that Margaret is "daughter and heiress, Lady Botreaux, suo jure." Find A Grave Memorial 101360077 reports: Margaret was fourty at the death of her father, and brought great wealth as well as a vast estate covering Somerset, Moels and Botreaux to her husband in marriage. She was considered to be a remarkable lady, a most energetic wife, and a much tried and devoted mother. When her son, Sir Robert, was taken prisoner in the Battle of Castillon, she went to great lengths to gather immense sums for his freedom, and was able to see his return after seven years and four months. Her strength was again tested when the same son faced the executioner when fighting on the Lancastrian side at Hexham, beheaded by the Yorks in 1463. Six years later, she lost her grandson, Sir Thomas Hungerford, executed at Salisbury in 1469. After all her effots to abide by her husband's wishes concerning their burials at a fabulous cost, her tomb was completely destroyed in the years to come. Her seal remains, it depicts her as sitting in a laced bodice and cover chief, an open book on her lap, and the label "Myne trouth assured", then the inscription of "Sigillum Margarete d' ne Hungerford de Botreaux."
