[61479] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 12 Februar 2026: "Bangor, Maine - Gilberto Andrei, 95, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the Maine Veterans' Home in Bangor. He would often say, "'I've lived a good life,' and those who knew him would wholeheartedly agree. A proud Italian-American and devoted family man, Gil carried a deep love for books and learning. He was intelligent and multilingual, with a playful spirit, a quick wit, and a natural gift for telling stories -often highly embellished for entertainment value. He loved to sing and bring laughter wherever he went. Above all, he loved his family. He was the proud father of eight children, Deborah Elaine Degerstrom, Andy (deceased), Carmen Marie Cammack, Tamela Louise Proctor, Timothy David, Karen Olimpia, Michael Roy, and Mary Anne. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Gil's parents were Angiola Casemira Lina (Argenti) and Orfeo Davide Andrei, naturalized Italian immigrants. Gil was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on October 23, 1930. He was the eldest of five children, Gloria Andrei, Raymond Andrei, Norma Andrei, and David Andrei. As a boy at Livermore Falls primary school, he was an honor roll student and played the jack-in-the-box in the third grade Christmas pageant, but his true love was hunting and fishing in the outdoors. He loved summers, working on the Davis family's dairy farm and swimming with friends. At Livermore Falls High School, he lettered as the left end on the football team and played YMCA basketball. He graduated in 1950 and later joined the U.S. Air Force. He married Patricia Ann (Bragdon) at the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Jay on June 16, 1952. They were married for 66 years, before her death in 2018. Gil was an Air Force photographer, earning the rank of senior master sergeant, before retiring from 23 years of distinguished military service on July 1, 1972. While in the Air Force, he traveled with his wife, and their growing family, around the world from Maine to Alabama, to Kansas, to Germany and Spain, before settling in Maine. In May 1976, he earned an Associate of Science degree from the University of Maine, where he studied mental health technology, and then worked at the Bangor Mental Health Institute. Before retiring, he also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Brewer. Throughout his life he was an avid reader and supporter of public libraries, especially the Brewer Public Library. He and his children enjoyed reading books together and spending hours talking about them. He loved listening to music, especially to Luciano Pavarotti, and singing Italian songs. He will be remembered for his warmth, intelligence, and the deep love he had for his family. His life stands as a testament to resilience, character, and the richness of a life fully lived. He will be deeply missed by his family and his friends."

[6674] "Long Beach Independent [Long Beach California], 3 August 1948," p. 8: "Miss Ralph Dighton Jackson Boston, the guest of honor and speaker at the LuVailean Poetry club yesterday afternoon in Alamitos Branch library proved surprisingly young and attractive to be the possessor of such impressive titles as founder, director and instructor of the American Academy of Poetry and poetry editor of Beacon Hill News. In her talk, 'Verse Forms of Future,' Miss Jackson gave encouragement to budding poets when she commented that beginners can usually start publishing a small way when they begin writing, but would be apt to starve in a garret if they depended on poetry earnings for their livelihood. Under the patronage system, the speaker said, a struggling poet or creative worker had the satisfaction of knowing his food and shelter were assured. Miss Jackson said that she agreed with Milton's remark that every poet should travel and that it was particularly true if they could travel to California, where she has found great beauty and inspiration. In the receiving line at the reception were Lyra LuVaile, president and founder of the LuVailean Poetry club; Mrs. Anne Swedlund, chairman of the hospitality committee, and Mmes. Elizabeth Tracy and Hally Nay MacKay. Vocal selections were given by Winifred Burton Paul of Los Angeles, president of the California Federation of Chaparral Poets, accompanied at the piano by Miss LuVaile. Among guests introduced were Ethel McDermott Johnston and Edith Duncan, Long Beach; Eva Lynn, Los Angeles; Agnes Davenport Bond, Grace Ladd and Ethel Gerrard of Santa Ana; Lavinia Watkins, president and founder of the San Diego Poets association; Mr. and Mrs. Foster Rhodes Jackson of Chino, brother and sister-in-law of the speaker and Kingsbury T. Jackson of York, also a brother; and visitor from South Dakota, Mrs. Esther Kuntzson." She r. in 1976 at Big Spring, TX.

[24317] Jane Evans Best's article, "Meyer Families Update," in the "Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage" magazine, April 1998, p. 32, states that Baschi Meyer was a cabinetmaker and "in 1633 [an] Anabaptist who settled without permission in Stallikon with his wife, owning no property" and that in the census lists of Stallikon his wife is "Tylli Müller, probably the Ottila Müller imprisoned in Oethenbach in Zurich in 1639 with Barbara Meylin, Elizabeth Meylin, sisters of the Anabaptist minister, and Barbara Kolb. Their son Hans Meyer, seventeen years old in 1637, may be the one recorded in 1685 as an Anabaptist at Rudelsheim, now Ludwigshöhe, north of Guntersblum, Germany, with his wife Anna Bauman and nine children, two of whom were married." Baschi Meyer's ancestry is from F. Leonard Sibel, Jr. as posted in Ancestry World Tree in 2004 and is not verified - this file states that Baschi m. Orrilia "Tylli" Mueller about 1622 in Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire, England, daughter of Hansen Mueller (she was b. 5 Dec 1598 in Rossdorf, Sachsae-Meiningen, Canton Thurgau, Switzerland and d. 1639/40 in Zurich, Switzerland.
