[9406] Bonnie spent 21 of her 25 years as a teacher in art education. Bonnie taught at Faust Junior High School in the Chambersburg District and in the former Perry Joint Schools, Marysville Elementary School, New Buffalo and the tressler Orphan's home. She graduated from Shippinsburg U. and attended Temple U, and Penn State U. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg, where she was a soloist and choir member. Her obituary states that three grandchildren are among her survivors.
[34453] Find A Grave memorial 120437161 offers: "his grave is unmarked. The Line cemetery, also called the Leathers cemetery, is located on the old homestead of Aaron Leathers. His gravestone is the only one with writing. The other graves are marked by field stones. There are no "official" records of who else is buried here. However in the early 1900s Ann Pinkham (1842-1929) provided a list to Albert S. Bryant of the people she knew were buried here. She had lived in this neighborhood her whole life, and knew the families." "The Day Genealogy" (Boston, MA: The Warren Press, 1916), p. 18, gives his information and his wife, and lists 12 children. Ancestry.com offers: "Day Name Meaning - English: from a pet form of David. English: from the Middle English personal name Day(e) or Dey(e), Old English Dæi, apparently from Old English dæg 'day', perhaps a short form of Old English personal names such as Dægberht and Dægmund. Reaney, however, points to the Middle English word day(e), dey(e) 'dairy maid', '(female) servant' (from Old English d?ge, cognate with Old Norse deigja 'female servant', ultimately from a root meaning 'to knead', and related to the word for dough), which he says came to be used for a servant of either sex. Irish: Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Deaghaidh (see O'Dea). Scottish: from an Anglicized form of the Gaelic personal name Daìdh, a colloquial form of David. Welsh: from Dai, a pet form of the personal name Dafydd, Welsh form of David."
