[16997] Andrew m. 5 Oct 1757 at Falmouth, ME Lydia Brown. He was a provincial soldier with his father and brothers at Fort Pownal and then settled at Castine; later he was at Sedgwick and North Brooksville. For information and children, see "Penobscot Pioneers" (1993), pp. 8-9, and "The Gray Family of Hancock County, Maine," by Amon A. Gray and Walter A. Snow (1987). Mark E. Honey ("Castine Patriot," 8 July 2004, p. 5) states: "Hannah Gray, born 1765-1773, married Timothy Roax, and removed to New Brunswick. She was the daughter of Andrew Gray and Lydia Brown, and granddaughter of Joshua Gray and Jennat Elliot. The Roax family were Loyalists. The male members of this family has served at Fort Pownall and were no doubt friends of the Grays. Andrew Gray was said to have served as a pilot in one of the vessels of the Penobscot expedition. His daughters Rebecca and Jane were said to have been involved in the release of stolen catle from a Tory barnyard in West Brooksville. These cattle had been confiscated by British soldiers."

[1605] http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cousin/html/p98.htm offers: "Guillaume VI Gui-Geoffroi, comte de Poitou, duc d' Aquitaine et de Gascogne was born circa 1026. He was the son of Guillaume III 'le Grand', comte de Poitou et duc d' Aquitaine and Agnes de Bourgogne. He married Mathilda de la Marche before 1052. Duke of Aquitaine and Gascony in France, between 1058 and 1086. He took part in the initially triumphant siege and capture of Muslim Barbastro in the northeast of the Iberian peninsula in 1064. He repudiated his first two wives because they had borned him no sons, and married his third wife Audéarde in 1069. He married Hildegarde de Bourgogne, daughter of Robert I 'le Vieux', duc de Bourgogne and Hélie de Semur, in 1069; His 3rd. Her 3rd. 2nd cousins, once removed. When he had at last a male heir, the Church threatened to declare the marriage null and void and the child therefore illegitimate. Count Guy was obliged to go to Rome, and plead with Pope Hildebrand, and finally accept an arrangement by which Audéarde was to be put aside, the child recognized, and Guy himself, among other penances for his irregular union, was required to establish and richly endow a monastery within his Poitevin domain. He was formed a marriage alliance with Alfonso VI of Castile by giving his daughter's hand, this would counter his enemies politics, the viscount of Béarn and the count of Armagnac who were closely related to the king of Aragón, in 1073. He was visited by Hugh the Great, abbot of Cluny, in 1073. He founds Montierneuf, in which he incorporates the church of St. Jean l'Evangéliste, in 1077 in Poitiers, Duchy of Aquitaine, Kingdom of France. He witnessed an earthquake, followed by a fire which destroyed a great part of the city, including the unlucky church of Ste. Radegonde, in 1083 in Poitiers, Duchy of Aquitaine, Kingdom of France. He died on 25 September 1086.
