[33721] This line is from the unverified Stowe tree in Ancestry.com in 2012 which states Thomas m. Amanda _____ (1824-1910);
[49558] "Shamokin News-Dispatch [Shamokin, Pennsylvania], 31 October 1930," p. 8: "Harry C. Conrad, a former well known resident of this city, for the past eight years, residing at Sewaren, New Jersey, died at his home at that place at 6:30 yesterday morning from a complication of diseases, from which he had been sufferer for the past several months. News of the young man's death was received yesterday at the home of Mrs. Conrad's mother, Mrs. William Etzweiler, 22 North Rock street and brought sorrow within the family circle and among the lamented young man's many friends. Harry C, son of the late John and Kate Conrad, was born February 9, 1884 at Valley View, Schuylkill county, coming to this city as a youth and was reared to manhood here. For a number of years he was employed by the Shamokin Lumber and Construction company and later by the Eagle Silk Mills. He left the latter corporation to accept a lucrative position at Sewaren, whither he removed his family eight years ago. Fraternally, Mr. Conrad was a member of Taehneghdoarus Tribe of Red Men and James A. Garfield Lodge of Odd Fellows, of this city, having retained his membership in both organizations since his departure. He was a dutiful and loving husband and father and enjoyed the highest regard of many friends. Surviving Mr. Conrad are his wife, nee Lydia Etzweiler, two sons, Wm. and Harry, Jr., three daughters, Elizabeth, Bertha and Dorothy and the following brothers and sisters: Elvin and Edwin Conrad, and Kloma, wife of Harry Spotts, of Valley View; Merle, wife of Charles Bachert, of Tamaqua and Sallie, wife of Kimler Adams of Paxinos, R. F. D. A brother, Harper Conrad, passed away in this city early last spring." The 29 April 1910 federal census in Shamokin, Northumberland Co., PA lists Conrad, a house carpenter, and his family, including son William, age 2, and daughter Elizabeth, age 2 months.

[24309] http://www.geocities.com/missourimule_2000/scrope.html states that Geoffrey m. (1) "Lora de Furnival, ca. 1332 in Swanton, Yorkshire." Cf. "Magna Carta Ancestry," Douglas Richardson (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co.). In 2011 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrope offers: "Sir Geoffrey le Scrope (d. 1340), chief justice of the kings bench as mentioned above, uncle of the first Baron Scrope of Bolton, had a son Henry, who in 1350 was summoned to parliament by writ as Baron Scrope, the designation of Masham being added in the time of his grandson to distinguish the title from that held by the elder branch of the family. Henry's fourth son was Richard le Scrope (c. 1350-1405), Archbishop of York, who took part with the Percies in opposition to Henry IV, and was beheaded for treason in June 1405. Despite this, Henry Scrope, 3rd Baron Scrope of Masham (c. 1376-1415), became a favorite of Henry V, by whom he was made treasurer in 1410 and employed on diplomatic missions abroad. However, in 1415 he was involved in a conspiracy to assassinate Henry (along with the King's cousin Richard of Conisburgh, 3rd Earl of Cambridge) and was ignominiously executed at Southampton. His title was forfeited. It was, however, restored to his brother John in 1455; and it fell into abeyance on the death, in 1517, of Geoffrey, 11th Baron Scrope of Masham, without male heirs."
