He was born in Jonesport, on May 18, 1938, to Gertrude Rose (Norton) and Forrest Franklin Bubar, Sr. He graduated from Jonesport High School in 1957. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and proudly served his country for 21 years. During his career in the Coast Guard, he served in many locations in the northeast, as well as, the Philippines and Alaska. His was last based on the Point Hannon, Station Jonesport from which he retired in 1978. After his retirement, he worked as a merchant mariner. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He was Past Master of Jonesport Lodge #188, a member of the Anah Temple Shrine, and American Legion Post#0008 of Cherryfield. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Look) Bubar of Addison; his four children, James 'PeeWee' Bubar and fiancee, Betty Eaton, of Franklin, Barbie (Bubar) Cirone and husband, Stephen, of Jonesport, Lynette Bubar-Smith and husband, Shannon, of East Machias, Clark Bubar and wife, Kristal, of Sullivan; stepdaughters, Kimberly Polley of Virginia, and Kelly (Polley) Alley and husband, Scott of Hermon; grandchildren, Brianna Cirone Lucena, Stephen Cirone, Kaylyn Smith, Baylee Smith, Reagan Smith, Brookelyn Bubar, and Peyton Bubar; stepgrandchildren, Darius Bickham, Adrienne Alley, and Lucas Alley; great-grandchildren, Brayden Bubar and Bryce Bubar; five sisters, Beverly Bagley, Judith Farnsworth, Shelia Williams, Leta Hayward, and Darlene Bubar; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by grandsons, Tyler Bubar and Brendon Bubar; brothers-in-law, Howard Bagley, Richard Farnsworth, Sr., Capt. John Williams, and Richard Hayward; and a special cousin, William Bubar."

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Florence (Parsons) Huckins; one son, Galen Huckins, both of Harrington; three daughters, Mrs. Edmond (June) Bagley of Columbia Falls, Mrs. Milton (Dorothy) Bagley of Addison, and Paula Noiles of Scarborough; 11 grandchildren, Randy Bagley of Connecticut, Linda and Lorena Bagley, both of Columbia Falls, LeRoy Huckins of Scarborough, Darlene Gaudet of Florida, Tammy Johnson of Hancock, Vic Gillingwater of New Hampshire, Leslie Huckins of Georgia, and Erin Adina and Jamie Noiles, all of Scarborough; eight great-grandchildren; two nephews, Charles and Eugene Huckins; one niece, Barbara Elkorn. He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Renee Bagley, infant daughter of Edmond and June Bagley; three brothers, Eugene 'Gene' John and Reginald Huckins."

Mrs. Hepler was born in Germany, Aug.18,1855 and came to the United States when she was about eight years old. She has been a resident of South Bend for 50 years and is the widow of the late Daniel Hepler. Surviving are six children, Harvey, Clarence, Frank, Georgey and Valley Hepler, of this city, and Mrs. Robert Campbell, of New York City; three brothers, A.C. Kuss, of Allentown, Pa., F.A. Kuss, of Fond du Lac, Wis., and William Kuss, of Wanatah, Ind., and a sister, Mrs. William Remmo, of this city. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence. Rev. W.H. Freshley, officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Mrs. Hepler was a member of the Woodman circle."
