He appears to have married off his 2nd. daughter Eleanor to the young Theobald Russell (1303-1340) of Yaverland, Isle of Wight and Kingston Russell, Dorset, son and heir of Sir William Russell (d.1311), who was possibly his ward. Ralph I, 1st Baron previously had settled the manor of Knighton in tail-male on two younger sons, William and Theobald, of his daughter Eleanor, wife of Theobald Russell. Samuel and his family and siblings are from an Internet correspondent 1/97 and are not verified. Samuel and Patience had John (b. 11 April 1728 at York, m. in 1759 Hannah Smith) and Ebenezer (b. 14 June 1740). Samuel and Mercy had Ann and Patience (b. 9 July 1748).
