Migrated to Virginia in 1665, then to Middleboro, elected town clerk Mar 28, 1693, and Deacon in 1695.
"Deacon John Bennett, Sr., son of Capt Peter of Bristol, a weaver, it is said, on account of some domestic trouble at the death of his mother, came in 1665 to this country, at the age of twenty-three, stopping first at Jamestown, VA., thence in 1668 went to Beverly, Mass., where he became a land holder. From there he moved at the time of the Salem Witchcraft, and after passing a year at Weymouth he went to Middleboro in 1687. He lived for a time near the Cox sawmill, then built a house between that formerly occupied by Elijah Shaw and the sawmill. Later he bought a farm and built a house. He took the oath of fidelity in 1689, and was selectman, of Middleboro, in 1692, 1693, 1695, 1697 and 1698. He was elected town clerk March 28, 1693, an office he held for some thirteen years. He was a proprietor in the Twenty-Six Men's Purchase in 1696 and owned lots in the Sixteen Shilling Purchase; also in the South Purhase. He was one of the founders of the First Church at Middleboro, and a deacon in 1695. He died March 21, 1718 in his seventy-sixth year. His wife died March 22, 1718, in her seventieth year, and both were buried in one grave. In 1671 Mr. Bennett married Deborah Grover. Of their children the name John only is found." - Representatives and Old Families of Southeastern Massachusetts.

[7048] See "Medieval English Ancestors of Certain Americans," Carl Boyer III (Santa Clarita, CA, 2001), p. 210. Third son, Robert was the second son of this name (the first d.s.p. 1217). He was of Colne Quincy, Essex. He and Ellen had Hawise de Quincy ca. 1250 (d. by 27 March 1285), greatgrandmother of Joan "Fair Maid of Kent", mother of King Richard II of England. This is probably the same person as 3593 and is incorrectly shown twice.
[53522] James is son of James Doolittle (1874-1936) & Mabel V. Jenkins (1881-1972).

[20808] For a genealogy, see http://www.chrisman.org/pedigree/out33.htm which gives an additional child for Constance and Nicholas, Constance (b. ca. 1646 in Eastham, MA) who m. by 1666 Daniel Doane - and includes this note: "Josiah Paine, town clerk and historian of Harwich, wrote that Nicholas and Constance (Hopkins ) Snow had a daughter named for her mother who was the first wife of Daniel Doane of Eastham. However, the Mayflower Families through five generations, vol 6 p. 10, mentions this but does not accept it as proved that she was a daughter. MF 6:10 gives names of Daniel and Constant Doane's children. Note, however, that Nicholas and Constance Snow had three children, still living in 1651 as per Gov Bradford's will, which remain unidentified."

[51918] "The Ellsworth Amerian [Ellsworth, Maine], 22 February 2018": "Violet Edith Farnsworth, 93, of Steuben passed away peacefully on Feb 16, 2018, at MCMH in Ellsworth. She was born May 24, 1924, the daughter of Merrill Willey and Edith Matthews of Milbridge. Violet is now in heaven with her husband, Norman Farnsworth Sr., and her youngest daughter, Truth Young. She is survived by her other three children, Rachel Newenham, Norman Farnsworth Jr. and Elsie Tracy. She left behind a dedicated granddaughter who was always there for her and loved her very much. She had several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was a kind and happy soul; everyone loved her. She worked in the woods piling and hauling logs alongside of her husband for many years. She made the best baked beans and molasses cookies. She loved her family and they loved her. She will be remembered always as her lifes stories are past on to other generations."
