She was born in Newbury, MA, and resided in the Hartford area for 33 years. Delia was a graduate of Salem Business College, Salem, MA, and came to Hartford In 1926 to teach at the Hartford Secretarial School. She retired from the Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Co., Hartford. She was a member of Sons and Daughters of the First Settlers of Newbury, Massachusetts. She is survived by her five children, Howard W. Ryder III of Akron, OH, Joan Ryder of East ; Hartford. Jean R. Locke of Alexandria, VA, Ann Ryder of East Hartford, and John D. Ryder of Needham, MA; a sister, Maude E. Fitzsimmons and a brother, Alfred H. Fitzsimmons, both of East Hartford. A memorial service will be held Tuesday (Jan. 2), 2 p.m., at Burnside United Methodist Church, 16 Church St., East Hartford. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Colchester, CT. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Burnside United Methodist Church, 16 Church St., East Hartford 06108. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hartford County Direct Cremation and Burial Society, New Britain."

A life-long resident of Quakake, he was born December 25, 1882, and was a son of the late Frank and Mary Jane (Billig) Neifert. The deceased was a member of Christ Reformed Church, Rush Township; the Red Men Lodge of Tamaqua; the Fraternal Patriotic Order of Americans, No. 217, Quakake, and the Quakake Fire Co. His wife, the former Mayme Fritz, died in 1941. Surviving are the following children: Pearl, wife of Raymond Hillegan, and Edith, wife of Arthur Walter, Quakake; Leonard, Park Crest; Robert, Tamaqua; and Forest, Allen Park, Mich. He also is survived by a brother, Dewey, Quakake, and 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren."
