She was born February 16, 1927 in Mansfield to Virgil and Margaret Chalfant Farst, and attended Madison High School. A homemaker, Dorothy lived in the Bellville area most of her life. She was a member of Irvin Hiskey Unit #535 American Legion Auxiliary, Robert L. Castor Post #5101 V.F.W. Auxiliary, and enjoyed playing bingo. Dorothy was talented at crocheting, having made afghans for friends, family, and for profit. She fell in love with Elvis at a young age, and retained that love throughout her life. Dorothy was also a Cleveland Indians fan. She is survived by her husband Robert G. Heichel, whom she married July 3, 1944; three sons and daughters-in-law Donald and Judy Heichel of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Dan and Kathy Heichel of Bellville and David and Pat Heichel of Lexington; six grandchildren Rob and his fiancée Jennifer, Jim, Todd and his wife Melissa, Melanie and her fiancée Shevan, Joe, and Troy; two step-grandchildren Michelle and her husband Shawn, and Deborah; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters and brothers-in-law Roma and Jim Gatton and Donna and Dave Turner all of Bellville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
