[60877] Ralph's obituary: "Seal Cove - With heavy hearts we say good-bye to a truly amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Surrounded by love with his family, Ralph W. Hodgdon II passed away at home after a long courageous battle against cancer. He was born February 08, 1946 in Brunswick, son of Ralph W. Sr. and Betty D. (White) Hodgdon. Ralph was an avid sports fan, had a true love for the 'game' always staying loyal to his favorite team, The Boston Red Sox. Along with his love of sports, Ralph had an unconditional love for animals. His pets were truly loved and adored, spoiled to the hill, and never a moment lacking attention. Ralph also had an unquestionable love for his family. Truly adored his wife, forever proud of his children and grandchildren, and greatly admired his friends. We all feel more than blessed to have been such a loving part of his life and will miss him dearly. Ralph leaves behind his beloved wife, Terry (Hopkins) Hodgdon; sons, Ralph Hodgdon and wife Natalie, Brandon Hodgdon and wife Laura; step-daughters, Dawn Gray, Melanie Corcoran and husband Matt; step-son, Chad Campbell and wife Michelle; sisters, Carolyn and Gwendolyn Hodgdon; grandchildren, Tyler, Trent, William, Sam, Codie, McKenzie, Alexa, Sarah, Matt, Treavor, Jared, Jamie, Payton, Kilee, Evan, Suri, and Cooper; and great-grandchild, William (Wes). Along with his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his brother, James Hodgdon."

[1266] George was the third son; "Gentleman, of North Weald Bassett, Co. Essex, where he was buried 27 March 1559 (parish register)." {per N.E.Hist.Gen.Register 139:232} His will requests burial at the altar end of the North Weald Church and leaves money "for my tythes negligently forgotten". His siblings are given in the pedigree, including the oldest brother. Sir William Rainsford, "Gentleman Usher to Henry VIII; ob. 1557." North Weald Basset is about 20 miles NE of the heart of London.
