[60508] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]," 23 September 2025: "Wills Edward Dow passed away peacefully at his home of 73 years in Bernard on April 24, 2025. Bill was 96 years old, the eldest of five children born to Charles and Harriet Dow. Bill spent his life on MDI as a lobster fisherman, finally retiring at age 89. He was dearly loved by his family and friends for his kindness and quick humor. His favorite pastime the last few years was putting puzzles together. Bill is survived by his children, Cindy Dunster, Cheryl LaRobadiere, Charlene Smith, Stephen Dow, stepdaughters Lorrain Smart and Diana Faust, thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is deeply missed by those who loved him."

[19623] Louis is son of Frederick II "the Pious," Elector of the Palatinate (b. 14 Feb 1515), and Marie von Brandenburg-Kulmbach (b. 11 Oct 1519). James Dow provides his ancestry at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jamesdow/s064/f010354.htm. Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_VI,_Elector_Palatine which reports "He was the first-born son of Frederick III, Elector Palatine and Marie of Brandenburg-Kulmbach. Unlike his father, he gave preference to Lutheranism over Calvinism, purging Calvinists from positions at the University of Heidelberg."
