[30838] The unverified file in OneWorldTree provides these parents for Mary and Margaret Chandler and states Catherine Fagen is daughter of Thomas Fagen and wife Margaret O Conners, both b. in 1820 in Ireland. "The Evening News [Harrisburg, Pennsylvania], 2 February 1922," p. 9: "Williamstown, Pa. - Mrs. Thomas Challenger, 71 years old, died at her residence on Elizabeth street, Monday morning of a stroke which she sustained on Sunday. She was born in Schuylkill County, and resided at this place the past seven years. Her body was brought to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Bopp, at 422 East Market street. Funeral services will bo held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church conducted by the Rev. Father James Clark. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery in this place. Mrs. Challenger is survived by her husband, one son, William Challenger, of this place; three daughters: Sara, Mrs. Joseph Bopp of town; Maggie, Mrs. Charles Reabuck of Pottsville; Kathryn, Mrs. John Carney of Ocean City. Twenty-eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren." Fagen is a variant of Fagan - Ancestry.com offers: "Fagan Name Meaning - Gaelicized version of a surname of Norman origin, from the personal name Pagan meaning rustic. in some cases it is a reduced Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Fágáin or Ó Faodhagáin, which are probably dialect forms of Ó hÓgáin (see Hogan, Hagan) and Ó hAodhagáin (see Hagan). Irish lenited f (spelled fh) is soundless, and a number of words beginning with vowels have gained an initial f in some dialects; such seems to be the case here. occasionally an Anglicized form of Mac Phaidín (see McFadden) or Ó Fiacháin (see Feehan)."
