[46374] "Villisca Review, 2 January 1925," p. 1: "William Fredrick Brockmeier, a resident of Villisca for more than forty years and one of the pioneer business men of this city, died Thursday evening of last week at his home here, following ill health of several months. Mr. Brockmeier retired from the meat business a few months ago after having been engaged in business here for more than forty years. He was born in Van Buren County, Iowa February 27, 1860 and was 64 years old at his death. He came in Montgomery County in 1882 and was married to Ella Skinner on August 8, 1883. To this union eight children were born, two of whom are deceased. Those who with their mother survive are Mrs. Amos Paullin, Malvern, Mrs. W. F. Heath and Chas Brockmeier, Fargo, South Dakota; Harry, Evanston, Wyoming; and Mrs. J. T. Oliver and Willis, Villisca. Mr. Brockmeier is survived also by one sister, Mrs. Carrie Pickett and two brothers, Chas A. and Jacob P. Brockmeier of Los Angeles, California. Mr. Brockmeier was a member of the Masonic Lodge. His funeral was held at his home Sunday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. J. L. Boyd delivering the funeral sermon. The burial service was in charge of the Masonic Order, and the singing was by J. H. Todd, F. L. Gerinch, H. H. Nordyke, and J. S. Honeyman. The pall bearers were A. J. Wertman, Thos G. Brenton, Carl Silas, F. S. Pierson, H. C. Lindell, and Ben Osborn and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. All of the children were here for the funeral as were also Wm. Kill of Chariton, Iowa, a cousin of Mr. Brockmeier and Mrs. Clara Holm of Omaha."

[58455] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," Linda Shepard Eaton passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, after a long battle with dementia. Born on June 10, 1943, in Stoneham, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of LeRoy G. and Marion (Torrey) Shepard. Linda moved to Stonington, Maine, at a young age with her parents. Growing up around her cousins and grandparents she attended Stonington schools, where she enjoyed plays, the saxophone, cheerleading, and working at the Dairy Freeze. She attended Washington State Teacher's College in Machias, now known as the University of Maine at Machias. She spent time in Rockland and Warren visiting her parents and younger sister, Wendy. In 1963 Linda married Eugene Eaton and started their family. She was a teacher and tutor before joining her husband in the family business, Gene's Sales & Service, for which she was the co-owner and secretary/bookkeeper until she retired. She also taught Sunday school at the Stonington Methodist Church, where she was a member. Linda enjoyed gardening, beloved German Shepherds, boating, being at camp, and observing wildlife. Linda had many talents including cooking, sewing, ceramics, painting, crafts and on occasion, would use a chainsaw, drive a dump truck and go snowmobiling with family. She loved being around her family and friends, frequently enjoying 'a cup of tea.' She was a member of the Eastern Star, where she held the office of secretary for many years. Linda is survived by her three children, Dean Eaton and his wife, Daphne, of Stonington, Barbara and her husband, Robert Violette, of Orland, and Darren Eaton and his wife, Rhonda, of Stonington. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Shane, Audra, Spencer, Tyler, Alec, Allyson; and two great grandchildren, Zaylee and Tatum. She is also survived by brother-in-law, James Kinney; and special niece, Bridgette McNally. Linda was predeceased by her husband; parents; sister, Wendy Kinney; and a special granddaughter."

She worked several places before owning her own business, Preble Realty. After retirement, she enjoyed working with the children at Happy Times Nursery School. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at camp with her family. Lois is survived by her sons, Walter Tupper and wife, Beth, of Ellsworth, Richard Tupper and wife, Kelley, of Lamoine; daughter, Patricia Kirby and husband, Thomas, of Ellsworth; stepson, Carl and wife, Neola, of Henderson Nev.; stepdaughter, Deborah Preble, of Hancock; brothers, Glendon Sprague, of Ellsworth and Lester Sprague and wife, Harriet, of Otis; grandchildren, Brandon Tupper and wife, Amanda, Heidi Tupper and fiancé, Cliff Winslow, Michael, Tiffany and Mason Tupper, Kimberly Barker and husband, Kyle, Jennifer and Heather Tupper, Andrew Kirby and wife, Brittany, Matthew Kirby, Stephen Kirby and fiancée, Amber Gray, Ben and Vicki Preble; great-grandchildren, Hunter Winslow, Laynee Kirby and Aiden Tupper. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Preble."
