A native of Villisca, Iowa, she lived in Tampa for 23 years and was of Methodist faith. Survivors include two daughters, including Mrs. Mary Boese, Tampa; three brothers, and two sisters."

He married, secondly, Lady Margaret Stewart, daughter of John Stewart, 1st Earl of Traquair and Lady Catherine Carnegie, on 26 March 1635. He died in 1671. James Douglas, 2nd Earl of Queensberry gained the title of 2nd Earl of Queensberry. He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of Nationary Biography."

He was educated in Blue Hill schools and worked for St. Regis Paper Co., Buckport for 36 years He served as Deputy Sheriff for Hancock County in the Mid 60's, as Penobscot Town Constable for over 25 years, was a member of the Penobscot Volunteer Fire Dept., the St. Regis Volunteer Fire Dept, a former member of the Blue Hill Volunteer Fire Dept and former Blue Hill Town Constable. He is survived by his wife, Edna (Morrison) Salsbury Gray of South Penobscot; one stepson, Rssell C. Salsbury of Menlo Park, Calif.; one step-daughter, Lynda L. Salsbury of Portland; one halfbrother Earl Gray of Blue Hill; one stepgrandson, Ryan Salsbury of Menlo Park, Calif; several cousins."
