[56452] Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 26 November 2018: "Bangor - Eugene "Gabul" A. Merrill, 86, died unexpectedly Friday, November 23, 2018, at EMMC. He was born on September 5, 1932, to the late Percy and Rita (Colson) Merrill. Gene was born and raised in Bangor, and graduated from Husson College. Gene entered into the United States during the Korean War. While stationed at Camp Kilmer, NJ, he met his wife, Dorothy (Fekety), where the two were wed on October 16, 1954. Their only daughter, Sharon (Watters) was born almost a year later. Gene took over his father's business, Bangor Tire Co., and made a successful life for his family. He loved spending time at his camps at Holbrook Pond and in Haynesville, and the outdoors in general. Gene was still snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, boating & ATV'ing up until his death. He sadly leaves behind his daughter, Sharon Watters (Dan) of Holden; granddaughter, Erin Watters of Naples; grandson, Ryan Watters of Colorado, great-grandson, Bailey Chretien; and a sister, Carline Dunham of Winterport. Gene also leaves behind his longtime friend, John Lincoln of Houlton, and John's son, Blaine, whom he thought of his own. Also longtime friend and partner, Jessie Walls of Bangor; who the family wants to thanks for all the time she cared for Gene and being his constant companion. Gene was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Rita; and wife, Dorothy Merrill."
[22686] Robert and family are from the LDS Church's unverified IGI file (CD #40; Pin #581312) which states he is of Iron Acton, Gloucestershire. Cf. http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/POYNTZ.htm.
