[47994] "Punxsutawney Spirit, 8 May 1911" offers Susan's obituary: "Mrs. P. S. Hetrick - Mrs. Susan Lingenfelter Hetrick, wife of P. S. Hetrick, died Saturday, May 6, after a long illness. The deceased was born July 6, 1838, and was therefore in her seventy-third year. Born in Bedford County, she came to Jefferson county with her parents when but a child. Her parents located at Sprankle`s Mills and the deceased had resided in this vicinity ever since. On April 6 1854, she was united in marriage with Peter S. Hetrick, who, with seven children, survive her. The deceased joined the M. E. church when but a child and was a consistant member until her death. The usefulness of her life was in keeping with her years. No task was too heavy for her to bear uncomplainingly. Ever bent upon lightening the load of others and scattering sunshine and kindness in her pathway, a loving mother and the kindest of neighbors, her death is widely mourned. In addition to her husband she is survived by the following children: Mrs. L. H. Hughes, of Dennison, Ohio; Mrs. J. C. Barclay, of Clearfield; Mrs. William Carter, Mrs. D. F. Zeitler, Sheldon L. and Edgar A. Hetrick of this place; O. H. Hetrick, of Elmira, New York. Funeral services will be held at the home on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and burial will be made in the Circle Hill Cemetery."

Page 9 -- In 1796, Andrew Steinhoff, grandfather of Lyman Pettit, petitioned the government for land in the Long Point settlement. He was given a magistrate's certificate for 200 acres but was restricted from settling at Long Point or York. Two daughters beyond the children given here are found in "The Malcolm Family," by John Karl Malcolm, Emily Steinhoff (b. about 1819) and Elsie Steinhoff (b. about 1821), but nothing further is known about them. Information in this paragraph is from George-Terrence H. Shaw via email (georshaw@enoreo.on.ca) 11/98: John Steinhoff, father of Andrew, was b. in New Jersey and died 11 Sept 1811 and had a farm ca. 1785 in Crowland Twp. (Welland, Ontario) of 200 acres, and lots 17-18, 272 acres, in the front concession of Stamford Twp. in 1798. He wife was Hannah _____. There is a reference to a John Steinhoff in the New Jersey Society Journal, Vol. 40, p. 137, showing taxes in Newton Twp., Sussex Co. in 1774 in his name for 10 acres, 2 catttle and in Charlottesville Twp. for 750 acres.

[59961] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 25 July 2025: "Columbia, Maine - Charlene L. (Worcester) Ramsdell, passed away on May 15, 2025, at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Charlene worked for many years as a 'lunch lady' cooking at NJSHS from 1982 to 2016. Charlene loved to cook, creating many beautiful cakes throughout the years, quilting and making cloths, loved to oil paint and draw. She was always up for a gathering and was always the first ready to hit the trails for a weekend sidexside ride. Charlene loved to hear the phone ring, she spent countless hours on the phone line keeping up with all the goings on. Charlene is survived by her husband of 56 years, Barry Ramsdell of Columbia; a son, Kevin Ramsdell with wife, Sheila Wallace of Milbridge, their children, Jenna and Garrett Ramsdell and Cody Leighton; son-in-law, Steve Jordan of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and his children, Steven Jordan Jr. with wife, Heather, Stephanie Dodd with husband, Jason, Sarah Jordan, and Cody Jordan; eight great-grandchildren, Lillyanna which has been raised as a 'daughter,' Brice, Abel, Kristopher, Timmothy, Kenzie, Maddison, Lillian and Penelope; and many siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Charlene was predeceased by her parents Orrin and Glenis (Grant) Worcester; daughter, Regina (Ramsdell) Jordan; and granddaughter, Kayla Jordan."
