[35862] This person is from the unverified Chesley Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2013.
His descendant, Margaret ("Jill") Goode Bohman published "Genealogy of Peter Mograge (Morgrage) and His Descendants" in 2003. Copies are available from her (P.O.Box 99, Campbellstown, KY 40011 - MJGTAMPA@aol.com) and are in several libraries (including the Witherle Library, Castine, ME). Peter came from York Co., ME to Penobscot, ME. His will was probated in 1832 (Vol. 1, pg. 35, Docket 9229, Castine). His homestead was near the Castine Cottages on Rt. 166.
Notes for Peter Morgrage, Sr. from "Norton and Grimes Genealogy" by Frank Grimes on RootsWeb's WorldConnect Project, 2005: "The earliest ancestor in America was John Moggaridge, who is spoken of in the 'York Deeds,' Book 4 York, Maine; also William and others who lived in the middle and latter part of 1600.
"John Mogaridge and his son Samuel of York, lived in Old Newbury, Mass., prior to 1700. They were ship builders, and among the earliest shipwrights in New England. Their shipyard was called Mogaridge's Point, for many years; (where Jackman's Wharf is or was) A copy of a contract to build a ship for two Englishmen is preserved in the records of Newburyport, Mass.
"In the Massachusetts Archives are to be found the names of several Morgrages and Morgridges who were in the Revolutionary War, from York; Amesbury and Newbury. Samuel Mogridge under Brig. Gen. Wadsworth, and William Morgrage, at Bunker Hill, from York.
"Is listed in 1784 List of Penobscot Settlers."
For a detailed history of the area, see "Penobscot, Maine 1761-2011," Mark E. Honey (Bangor, ME: Snowman Printing, 2011) [distrubted by the Penobscot Historical Society]

[46988] "The Custer County Chief [Broken Bow, Nebraska], 21 March 1930," p. 9: "The following obituary of Mrs. I. S. Kepner was taken from the Polk County Democrat. Mr. and Mrs. Kepner resided on the present Clarence Walgren farm six miles north of Arcadia for a number of years and will be remembered by their many friends. Mary Hannah Sherlock was born April 9, 1854, in Juniata county, Pa., and passed away in Osceola, Neb., Friday, March 7, 1930, aged 75 years, 10 months and 28 days. She was married to Irvln S. Kepner, September 6, 1881, at Mifflin, and came at once to Osceola. This continued to be home until her call came to depart. She united with the Presbyterian church ot Osceola in 1882 and continued her relations with that organization until the end." Mary is daughter of David Sherlock (1832-1870) & Sarah Ann Tilton (1829-1904).
[40277] An unverified tree in Ancestry.com in 2016 offers (perhaps a different person?): "John Snyder was born on December 31, 1823, in Washington County, Maryland, the child of Peter and Mary. He married Matilda Bender on October 28, 1855. They had seven children in 10 years. He died on February 18, 1901, in Summit County, Ohio, having lived a long life of 77 years." Ancestry.com offers: "Snyder Name Meaning - Dutch: occupational name for a tailor, from an agent derivative of Middle Dutch sniden 'to cut'. Americanized form of German Schneider."
