[41954] This line is from the unverified Brown Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2017, noting that her marriage record lists her as Rachel Beall, believed to be daugher of Patrick Hepburn (b. 1661 in Edunburg, Midlothian, Scotland). Ancestry.com offers: "Hepburn Name Meaning - Northern English and Scottish: habitational name from Hebron, or Hebburn in County Durham, so named from Old English heah high + byrgen burial mound, tumulus."
[58385] Isaiah's obituary: "Sebec - Pastor Isaiah H. Hill, 82, passed away December 9, 2023, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born February 9, 1941, in East Corinth, the son of Kenneth and Evelyn (Duran) Hill. Isaiah was a very humble, kind, caring, loving, and giving man. He grew up knowing hard work, and that continued all through his life. He worked 16 years at the Great Northern Paper Company as a very respected certified pipe welder and pipe fitter. He stopped working at Great Northern Paper Company in 1978, to answer God's call of being pastor of the Sebec Corner Baptist Church. He served at the church for 50 years and touched innumerable lives. He was also a farmer who had a passion for gardening and gave away much of the produce. His life was a living example of loving the Lord and loving people. If you had the privilege of spending any time with him at all, he would call you 'friend', and you would walk away knowing in your heart that you had a friend. Isaiah is survived by his loving wife, Laurene (Blodgett) Hill; son, Timothy Hill and his wife, Kimberly; daughter, Melanie Ness and her husband, Erick; seven grandchildren, Collin Hill and his wife, Jessica, Hannah Ness, Cole Hill and his wife, Cece, Michaela Hill, Caleb Ness, and Leah and Olivia Hill; five great-grandchildren, MayAnna, Jackson, Emmett, Octavia, and Avery Hill; two brothers, Carroll Hill and his wife, Cathy, and Fred Hill and his wife, Sharon; three sisters, Kenlyn Weymouth, Patricia Sinclair, and Lois Hill; sister-in-law, Sue Hill; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Isaiah was predeceased by three brothers, Wilbur, Nathan, and John Hill, and two sisters, Judy Gellerson and Becky Tingley."

[24867] NOTE: Roger is duplicated in my database as Roger Le Strange (d. 1311)! - the confusion in this ancestry invited further research. "Massachusetts and Maine Families, Volume I, Beaumont, of Wednesbury," on the Web at genealogy.com, p.155: "Roger Lestrange, 4th Lord Strange of Knockin, 2nd son of John, was born in 1301 and succeeded his brother John, 3rd Lord, in 1323. In 1335 he was heir of his uncle, Edle Lestrange. In 1337 he was at war in France. He died in 1349. His first wife, Maud, died before March 25, 1344, when he married, secondly, Joan, daughter of Oliver, Lord Ingham." Joan and Oliver, Lord Ingham, had a daughter, Ela, who m. Sir Miles Stapleton, K.G., and had Sir Brian Stapleton who m. Cecilia, daughter of William, Lord Bardof - they were parents of Miles Stapleton, q.v. - see "Baronia Angelica Concentrata," T. C. Re: Pennsylvania Milita Act, 17 Mar 1777: The 1777 militia law expired in 1780, but it was immediately re-enacted. The numerical sequence of the Bns in ea Comp. changed to correspond with the relative seniority of their commanding officers. If a number designation of a Bn. changed, it was probably because that the CO was either senior or junior to the other Bn. CO's. Often, the Co. Militia units were activated for guarding prisoners of war at Lancaster.
Based on the record of Michael Traxler's enrollment in the PA Militia, his Revolutionary Service was accepted by The Daughters of the American Revolution. My
DAR National number is 0634404, 2 Feb 1979. Once the connection/relationship to Michael Traxler is established, any descendent of his is eligible for membership in the DAR, SAR or CAR.
According to John Henry Aue's military record (PA State Archives, Harrisburg, PA), he was enrolled in the Berks Co. Militia. At one time, he failed to report when his class and company was called to duty and paid a fine. Apparently, this was very common among the enrollees in the State Militia. Many reasons can be cited: crops to plant or harvest, illness, etc.)

Comments: Relatives have helped to solve the puzzle of the pronunciation of the Traxler name. As these people were of German origin, the name was pronounced
"TROXLER," in the German way. As time went on, and the families integrated into the English-speaking communities, the pronunciation changed to the "flat" Traxler we use today.
Note: Will of Michael Traxler listed in Huntingdon Co.
