[32508] Lucinda's ancestry is from the unverified "Pedigree Resource File," database, FamilySearch (http://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.2.1/SPS8-85Z: accessed 2013-11-25), Find A Grave Memorial 61794258 offers: "Lucinda was the daughter of Gad Sutliffe and Sarah Squire. About 1812, in Genessee county, New York, Lucinda married Chaplin Rathbun. Two sons and three daughters were born there: Saxton Squire, Jonathan, Jeannette, Catharine, and Lucinda. At this time, things were in an unsettled condition and the reports of good land to be found in Ohio, for settlement by veterans of the war, made the family decide to journey there and take up land. They journeyed to Buffalo and thence by water on Lake Erie, to Huron, Ohio where they lived for a short while, thence to Sandusky county, arriving in 1824. They settled in Green Creek where they built a log cabin in Section 17. Here, two daughters and one son were born: Sara, Eliza, and Chaplin. During the cholera epidemic in 1832 which created great havoc among the inhabitants, Lucinda traveled through the community administering to the many who were sick with the terrible affliction, regardless of personal exposure. She became well-known and beloved by all the people for her noble character and great devotion to duty. - From "The Christian Huss Family Tree As Written by his Descendants," Compiled by Fae Elaine Scott, Published by: Bodie Printing Company, 1972."
