[60598] Lottie's obituary: "Lee - Lottie (Spencer) Stevens, 85, passed away on March 2, 2018, peacefully with her family, at her home, and by her side. She was born on April 6, 1932, in Springfield, ME, the daughter of Orris and Susie (Davis) Spencer. Lottie married Blake Stevens in 1949 and together they lived in Conn. for 23 years and retired to Lee, ME, in 1985. Lottie enjoyed cooking. Everyone loved her pies and fudge. And she loved a game of cards. In Lottie's spare time, you would always find her sewing, crocheting doilies or outfits for a new baby, friend, or family. Near the end, it was crossword puzzles. Lottie had a big heart. She always made sure that no one ever went without. She even loved to babysit all of her grandchildren and would always sneak money to them and tell them not to tell anyone. Holidays were always gathered at her house. Lottie would always say 'The more the merrier.' Lottie loved animals. She always had to keep dog treats, cat food, and bird food around the house to feed the strays and the pets that everyone would bring over to the house to visit with her. There was only one animal that she did not like, and that was snakes. Lottie also loved to talk. Did not matter who you were, Lottie would always talk your ear off. Lottie is survived by her daughters, Lauralee Stevens, of Lee, Barbara Stevens, of New Britain, Conn., Vickie Thompson and her husband, Doug, and Deborah Stevens, all of Wallingford, Conn.; five grandchildren, Marie Cummings and her husband, Mark, Ronald Martin and his wife, Ginger, Samantha Thompson, Douglas Thompson and wife, Erica, and Blake Stevens-Woodward and husband, Wes; great-grandchildren, Timothy Cummings, Daisy and Stella Martin, Blake Thompson, and Baby Woodward. She also leaves brothers, Clifford, Carroll, Avon and wife, Kathy, Dale and wife, Beulah, and Dana Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Blake; sister, Gayle, brother, Phillip, and sister, Marcia. The family would like to thank Shannon and Taylor and Blair from Beacon Hospice for the magnificent care that they gave Lottie."
