[55478] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 13 September 1919, p. 15: "Captain Henry Partridge Conner, who had followed the sea for 48 years, died Tuesday at his home No. 259 North Seventh street, Newark, N. J., at the age of 81 years. During the Civil war he served aa ensign, master and lieutenant. At the time of hla retirement 20 years ago he was in the employ of the Pacific Mail Steamship Co. He was a life member of the New York Marine Society. Captain Conner waa born in Orland, Me., and came from a seafaring family. At 14 he was an ordinary seeman and soon rose to the position of first officer. He volunteered for service in the Civil war and was placed in charge of the Fourth Battery on the celebrated Ironsides during the attack on Fort Fisher. He opened the attack by firing the ship's 11-inch gun, known as No. 8. For his services in that engagement he was made lieutenant. Upon his discharge in 1865 he entered the service of the Pacific Mail Steamship Co. as first officer and was advanced to captain in 1867. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Amelia E. Seymour of Troy, N.Y."

(Banks) Edgecomb, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, following a brave battle with cancer. He was born June 30, 1958, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Burnice E. Jr. and Betty A. (Mortensen) Edgecomb. Mike was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1976 and was married to his wife, Karen on August 28, 1981. He farmed for many years, drove truck for multiple area businesses, enjoyed carpentry and was always willing to help others. Mike took great pride in perfecting his lawn and enjoyed time with his entire family. He was also a past president of the Fort Fairfield Snowmobile Club. In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by one brother-in-law, Ronald Sites. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Karen Edgecomb of Fort Fairfield; three sons, Brian Edgecomb of Presque Isle, Keith Edgecomb and his wife, Randi, of Hampden, Michael Edgecomb II and his wife, Christine, of Presque Isle; three grandchildren, Maggie and Ellie Edgecomb, both of Hampden, Parker Edgecomb of Presque Isle; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Rose Edgecomb of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Diane Sites of Mapleton; two brothers-in-law, Stephen Banks and his wife, Krista of Pensacola, FL, Rick Wyman and his wife, Denise, of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews. Mike also leaves behind his dog, Rudy; grand-dogs, Gronk and Beau; and his Strickland Road neighbors."

Miles of North Hartland, VT gave a typescript copy of her "John Kenniston - 1615 - and His Descendants" to the NEHG Society in Boston, in which she states that a Humphrey Kynaston of Stokes, living in 1520, is son of Piers Kynaston of Stokes and m. Elizabeth of Otely - their son, Sir Francis Kynaston of Otely, was Squire to King Charles I; she states that Humphrey is second son of Sir Roger Kynaston of Hardley. P. 3: "He succeeded his father as Constable of Middle Castle. He married first Marion, daughter of Meredith ap Howell of Oswald, second Elizabeth, daughter of Meredeth ap Howell of Oswaldstre. While he was tenant of Middle Castle, he led a 'riotous and dissolute life' and contracted many debts by which he earned the name 'Wild Humphrey.' He was for 'divers reasons' declared an outlaw whereupon he fled and 'sheltered himself in a card near Nescliff' which to this day is called 'Kynaston Cave.'" She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church of New Bethlehem and the Rosary Society. Survivors incude her father, Robert Eugene Pyne of Rimersburg RD 1; three brothers, James Thomas Pyne of Youngstown, Ohio, John M. Pyne of Rimersburg RD 1 and William E. Pyne of Buffalo, New York; one sister, Mrs. John E. (Mary) Lillis of Erie, Pa and numerous nieces and nephews."
