B6: "Kings Mountain, N.C. - Violet Mattern Blackwelder, 88, a resident of Summitt Place, Kings Mountain, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Charlotte Health Care, Charlotte, N.C. She was born in Shamokin, Pa., a daughter of the late Willard and Lula (Beaver) Mattern. Violet resided in Greenville, N.C. and was a retired administrative assistant from East Carolina University. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a secretary of local Greenville Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxillary, a former member of Sweet Adelines, and was a volunteer for the Battered Women's Shelter, Greenville. She supported many charities including ASPCA and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Violet had an avid love for music and art. She is survived by two sons, Gary Blackwelder and wife, Sharon, of Pooler, Ga., and Roger Blackwelder and partner, Lorraine Timlin, of Kingston, N.Y.; two daughters, Janis Tyson, and husband, Ray, of Charlotte, and Linda Bowen and husband, Terry, Plymouth, N.C.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held on May 28 in Kings Mountain. Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington."

I have an ancestor, Catharina Schneider born 19 Feb. 1752(according to bible records of 2nd husband). She married #1 Johan Adam Dietrich, children John, Jacob, Magdalena, and Anna Maria. During this marriage lived probably Longswamp, Pike and Maxatawny (Kutztown)Twp., PA. After 1793 moved to West Buffalo Twp., Northumberland, now Union Co., PA. After death of Dietrich, she married #2 John Stees Sr. 8 Feb. 1824. Died 31 Mar 1835 aged 83 yrs 2mos 11 days.

(CATHARINE) renounced her rights.
5.Deed Book E, page 665, Heirs request the release of John Stees as administrator.
Prothonator's Office, Orphan's Court Book 2, May 1819-1831, page 187, Petition by heirs
for evaluation of real estate . This document states that the widow had married John
Stees and names children of Adam Dietrich . This document is dated 20 Feb. 1824 (right
after the marriage to Stees on 8 Feb. 1824)

7. Translated copy from family Bible of John Stees. was owned by 1907 by Stapelton, Wrightsville Pa . published 1763 Germantown 2nd edition by Sowers. The entries give the maiden name of Catharina Schneider, date of birth, date of 2nd marriage, date of her death and age at death along with data on John Stees, his first marriage and children of that marriage and their birthdates.
I believe this follows Catharine through both marriages and links her to the family of George Daniel Schneider. To date, I have not found a baptismal record for her or church records for either marriage. There are other documents (tax, court and census records) that place them in mentioned parts of Berks and then Northumberland (now Union) Co., Pa.

He had one son with UNKNOWN. He then married Alice Foskett and they had six children together. He died on November 3, 1628, in Exeter, Devon, England, having lived a long life of 84 years. When Alice Foskett was born in 1548 in Exeter, Devon, England, her father, George, was 13, and her mother, Lea, was 13. . . . . She died in 1639 in Exeter, Devon, England, at the impressive age of 91.

He married Esther Ann Coffin on 7 January 1849, in Harrington, Washington, Maine, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Addison, Washington, Maine, United States in 1860 and Lubec, Washington, Maine, United States in 1870. He died on 21 July 1886, in Harpswell, Cumberland, Maine, United States, at the age of 56, and was buried in Milbridge, Washington, Maine, United States."
