[19134] Philippe de Rouvre reigned as Duke of Burgundy 1349-61, when the duchy was taken by the crown. In 1363 the duchy became an apanage of Philip "the Bold," son of the Valois King John "the Good". Burgundy reached its highest stature under the Valois dukes which followed. Philippe de Rouvre m. Marguerite of Flanders - her second husband was Philip "the Bold." http://gilles.maillet.free.fr/histoire/famille_bourgogne/duc_de_bourgogne.htm states: "Philippe I (1345-1361), fils de Philippe et de Jeanne de Boulogne, Seigneur de Salins (1346-1361), Comte de Bourgogne et Comte d'Artois (1347-1361), Duc de Bourgogne (1349-1361), Comte d'Auvergne et Comte de Boulogne (1360-1361) ép. Marguerite de Flandre, fille de Louis III de Mâle, Comte de Flandre, Comte de Nevers et Comte de Rethel."

[37845] See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_West,_3rd_Baron_De_La_Warr. Find A Grave memorial 104189114 offers: "Sir Thomas was the first Lord Governor and Captain General of Virginia, 1610. He arrived at Jamestown June of 1610 just in time to save the colony from abandonment by the colonists, convincing them to stay despite the Powhatans had killed their council president, Lord Ratcliffe. West, in turn, practiced Indian like tactics against the Indians, victoriously. Thomas left a deputy, Samuel Argall in charge and returned to England and published, 'The Relation of the Right Honourable the Lord De-La-Warre, of the Colonie, Planted in Virginia' in 1611. Receiving complaints about Argall's methods of governing, Thomas set sail for Virginia in 1618, and died en route to the colonies."
