Collins, Jr., Dallas, 1959, pp. 145-47, 150-55.} We know that of Erc's sons Loarn, Fergus and Angus settled Dalriada (Argyle) in Scotland in 496 {"Royal Ancestors of Sixty New England Colonists," Frederick L. LeLeux family tree at https://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com which reports "The three sons of Erc MacEochaid of Irish Dal Riada; Fergus, Angus and Loarn, laid the foundation of the Scottish monarchy. the country, colonized by these emigrants was known by the name of Airer Gaedhil (Arrer-gale), i.e. the territory of the Gael or Irish; and the name is still applied to the territory in the shortened form of Argyle, a living record of these early colonizations.".
