Edgecomb, 84, husband of the late Wanda (Morrell) Edgecomb, passed away Wednesday morning, April 10, 2024, in Scarborough, following a period of declining health. He was born December 1, 1939, in Limestone, the son of Almond J. "AJ" and Dorothy (Ouellette) Edgecomb. Roger was a member of the Limestone High School, Class of 1957 and was married to Wanda Morrell on October 28, 1961. Roger had been self-employed as a potato farmer in Limestone and later Caribou for much of his life. He was past president of the Maine Farmers Association, a member of Agway, a past board member of the Maine Potato Growers, and while in school, the Limestone Future Farmers of America. Roger greatly enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing, stock car racing, owning and flying his private airplane, seafood, and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his wife, Wanda; two brothers, Carl and David Edgecomb; and one sister, Barbara Edgecomb. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Ronalyn Edgecomb of Caribou, Dalton and Yvette Edgecomb of Estero, FL, and Tod and Shari Edgecomb of Scarborough; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Timothy Leahy of Warner Robins, GA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter and Margie Edgecomb of Caribou, and Timothy and Katrina Edgecomb of Ringgold, GA; four sisters, Aline Drost of Woodland, Judy Dionne of Las Vegas, NV, Gail Kinney and her husband, Dale, of Abington, VA, and Julie Armillotti and her husband, David, of Winthrop; sixteen grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ellen Cleaves officiating. Interment will follow at St. Albans Anglican Cemetery, Medford, New Brunswick."

Her obituary: "Lincoln - Lois Velma McCormick, 85, passed away at home surrounded by family on May 29, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on June 18th, 1935, to Graydon and Zeta Grant in Kilburn, New Brunswick, Canada. Lois was raised in Canada along with her sister Ruth and brother Robert (Sherry). She remembered many happy times, especially how her parents made everything special without having a lot of money- from picnics in the summer to wonderful Christmases and birthdays. She had a best friend Ruthie Cox who she spent most of her time with. She loved to read from an early age and had lots of books. During her school years she enjoyed learning history, writing (winning a contest in the 8th grade), playing ping pong in the school basement, participating in high school plays, and singing in the school chorus. She also enjoyed playing softball in the summer and sledding in the winter. She attended the Baptist church with her family. Lois graduated as salutatorian of her high school class in 1954. Following graduation, Lois spent the next three years in nurses training in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She started her career in pediatric nursing which she enjoyed very much. It was shortly after this time that she met her first husband, Richard Brown. They married and had two sons, Richard and Robert. They lived in California where she worked in the operating room as an RN. A few years later, they divorced, and Lois would return to Canada. In 1973, she met Norman McCormick from Lincoln, Maine, who would become her second husband in 1974, making her stepmother to Brian and Mitchell McCormick. In 1977, her daughter Beth was born. She continued her career with nursing, working first in the local hospital and then in private practice. As the years went on, Lois continued many hobbies and activities such as reading, doing crossword puzzles, attending the First Congregational Church of Lincoln (where she was baptized and also became a member), going on family picnics, attending dances with Norman, traveling to the Maine Coast, accompanying Norman on many car rides locally, and spending time with family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, cousin, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She especially enjoyed helping to take care of her grandson, Riley, from a young age, developing an incredibly strong bond. In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by her brother, Robert; husband Norman; and a special niece, Barbara Baude. Lois is survived by her sister, Ruth Delano; son, Richard Brown; son, Robert Brown; daughter, Beth White and her husband Glen; stepchildren Brian McCormick and wife Brenda; Mitchell McCormick and wife Denise; grandchildren RJ.Brown; Mason Brown; Morgan Brown; Andrew McCromick and wife Erin; Christopher McCormick; Allan McCormick; Danielle McCormick; Melissa McCormick, and Riley White; great grandchildren Eden and Emilia McCormick."

[14631] "Springfield Reporter [Springfield, Vermont], 12 June 1908," p. 5: "Irving H. Whitcomb died at his home on High street, Woodstock, early last Saturday morning, at the age of 58 years. Mr. Whitcomb had suffered from asthma for a number of years, and for some time past his suffering was at times intense. The affliction arose from disease of the heart, and the latter condition was the immediate cause of his death. Funeral services were held at the home on Tuesday at ten o'clock, a. m., the Rev. R. H. Cheever officiating, and internment was in Springfield, his native town. Mr. Whitcomb grew to manhood in Springfield, and all his active life was devoted to livery business, excepting a short time during which he drove a stage coach between Amsden and Windsor. Mr. Whitcomb was married June 1, 1876. to Miss Ida S. Putnam of Springfield. The surviving members of the family are Mrs. Whitcomb, their son, Henry C. Whitcomb, and Miss Ida F. Whitcomb, whose home has been with them since her infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Whitcomb moved to Woodstock in April, 1882, and entered the employ of the late John Cone as manager of his livery stable business, continuing in that relation until the year 1890, when the business passed into the ownership of Mr. Whitcomb, and was one of the best and most largely patronized stables in this vicinity, until the establishment of the big Inn Stable and the failure of Mr. Whitcomb's health. After the burning of the former Inn barn in the fall of 1904, Mr. Whitcomb sold his barn and most of his equipment, and has since been much more concerned with the misfortunes of ill health than with active business. The trait which dominated Mr. Whitcomb's life was unselfishness; his impulse was always toward generosity, and while this did not always tend to his pecuniary advantage, it together with his genuine cordiality and frank honesty of purpose, made him more friendships than are enjoyed by the average man, and all his acquaintances were w ell wishers. The relatious of his family lite were peculiarly tender and affectionate, and the loss of the husband and father from this home is a bereavement scarcely to be understood. - Woodstock Standard."
