[61094] Nathan's obituary: "Nathan Preston Hall passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, in Bar Harbor after a lengthy illness. Nathan was the son of the late Alvin Hall Sr. and Marjorie (Grant) Hall of Milbridge. Nathan was born Sept. 9, 1943, in Steuben. Nathan was well known for his exceptional artistic talent. In his lifetime he created great beauty with literally thousands of pieces of artwork. His paintings are displayed in many MDI businesses, at a fire station near ground zero in New York City, and countless homes across America. He definitely possessed a God-given talent to paint. He is remembered by many for his tremendous lightheartedness and a phenomenal sense of humor. His presence would bring much joy to any gathering of family, and his many friends. A great guitar player and singer, Nathan was a big fan of such greats as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Sarah McLachlan and many others. Nathan attended school in Milbridge, graduated from Milbridge High School, where he had perfect attendance, as well as being an honor student. He also attended the Chicago Art Institute and served in the U.S. Navy. Nathan is survived by his siblings, sisters, Alvina E. Hall of Ellsworth, Elizabeth M. Flaherty and her husband, Tom, of Milbridge; brothers, Carroll A. and his wife, Mary Belle, of Amherst, Everard D. and his wife, Priscilla, of Milbridge, Stanley O. of Augusta, Alton G. and his wife, Patricia, of Harrah, Wash., Alvin Jr. and his wife, Lauren, of Cherryfield; many nieces and nephews. Maria Jenkins, Julie Nevells and Nathan J. Hall were very special to Nathan. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marilyn L. Hall and Loretta M. Hall. Nathan will be sadly missed by special friends, Charlotte Bordeaux and daughters, Joan and Peggy, Ernie Brooks, Mike Murphy and many others."
