[58915] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 3 March 2025: "Alan W. Rush, 90, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at NLEMMC in Bangor. He was born August 13, 1934, in Monticello, the son of Bernice E. (White) and Elden Rush. Alan grew up in Monticello, and along with a lot of young people from the county back then, moved to Connecticut in the early 1950s, where jobs were plentiful. It was there that he and the love of his life, Ione, got together after both having grown up in Monticello. They were married and together built a beautiful life for the next 60 years. They moved back to Maine in 1970, when they decided to become their own boss and purchased a small store in Dover-Foxcroft. They sold Rush's Market in 1979, and Alan worked at a few jobs before getting a job as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Dover-Foxcroft. He retired after nearly 25 years with the town. Alan really enjoyed hunting and fishing and had many stories to tell of his adventures. He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially loved riding the roads. Ione always said 'he was happy on wheels.' He could ride for hours and was able to tell you where just about any road was in this state and where it would take you. Alan was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Ione, in 2019; his sister, Glenna Brown; his sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Roland Jordan; and nephews, Stephen Green, Gary Jordan, and Brian Jordan. He is survived by a sister, Claire and husband, Noel 'Bo' Green of Brunswick, GA; a son, Jerry Rush and wife, Nancy, of Sangerville; a daughter, Jill (Rush) Koenig and husband, Gary, of Gray; grandchildren, Kielie and husband, Dean Gray, of Hudson, Robert Koenig of Presque Isle, and Joseph Koenig of Gray; great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Bronson, and Sydney; his special extended family from Aroostook County; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his stepgrandchildren, Matt Richards, and Alison and husband, Chad Reed, and their children, Owen and Maya; along with many, many special friends, too many to list."
[28465] The Shirer Family Genealogy Project at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mysong/scheur2.txt offers: "Johan Ulrich Scheurer might have been married twice or the same wife may have misrepresented with another surname. At any rate the name Dorothea Ballag(in) is found after 1746 and Dorothea Dietrich(in) before. The wills of Peter and Susannah Ballie are evidence that Dorothea was their daughter as they mention her by her married name and Susannah Ballie's will mentions seven of Ulrich and Dorothea's children. Ulrich might be from the same part of Weyer, Alsace, France that Johannes Scheurer was. He was born circa 1709. One source gives his birth as abt 1700, Bargen, Arberg County, Switzerland. He married Dorothea Ballie circa 1743. He died circa 1754. He left a will on 26 March 1754 which he signed on that date. His death occurred afterward. Dorothea Ballie was the daughter of Peter and Sunannah Ballie. She was born circa 1700 and died after 1772 in Maxatawny. Peter Ballie was born circa 1689 and died circa 29 Mar 1743, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, probably in Oley township. He married Susannah ?? who died 24 May 1755, Oley Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania."
