[57349] The unverified file G6QD-6L5 in familysearch.org offers: "Susan Spaulding McCullam was born in 1779. She married Nathaniel Guptill about 1815, in Granada, Yellowhead County, Alberta, Canada. They were the parents of at least 1 son. She died on 31 March 1873, in Machias, Washington, Maine, United States, at the age of 94." - an appended note offers: "She was 20 years her husband's junior. What happened to her is unknown;she disappeared after they left their small son with the Robert Leighton family in Steuben and never returned to claim him. There was a brother, but who raised him is not known. "
[34041] The 1900 federal census in Juniata Twp., Perry Co., PA lists Cornelius as son, age 60, in the household of his mother, Catharine Sheaffer (age 78, b. in PA) - they are the only two persons in this household. He is alone in the 1910 census in the same twp. His obituary is in "The News [Newport, PA], 23 October 1913", p. 5.
