Graham (1883), p. 280: "BRIGHT, JOHN, farmer, G.A.R., was born in Liberty township, Fairfield county, Ohio, December 8, 1832; the youngest son of John and Elizabeth Bright. John, Jr., after receiving an ordinary common school education spent his youth in farming pursuits, varied somewhat by assisting in the flour and saw mill, so long conducted by his father. Upon the death of the latter in 1853, he became owner of the home farm, a well improved and productive place, consisting of over two hundred acres,upon which is a handsome and commodious family residence, and farm buildings of a superior character. Mr. Bright is a successful farmer and prominent citizen. He is a member of the Evangelical Association Church, also of the Republican party. In 1864 he served some four months in the One Hundred and Sixtieth O. V. I. July 24, 1853, he was married to Mrs. Harriet Studer. To them were born two daughters: Sula, now the wife of John Carns of Greenfield township, and Laura, now Mrs. O. J. Weist, residing on a place adjoining her parent's home."

North Brooksville on the west side of the Bagaduce, and from 1794 r. Swans Island, ME for a few years, returning to Brooksville in 1800. His brother William r. Sedgwick, ME by 1768 and in S. Penobscot from 1803 on Johnsons Point where he d. 31 Jan 1820; William m. 16 Feb 1779 at Deer Isle, ME Eunice Howard (1761-1864). Children of both brothers are listed by Snow. Mark E. Honey ("Castine Patriot," 8 July 2004, p. 5) reports that Joshua "was taken prisoner at Majorbigwaduce and was held in irons in Fort George." - and is therefore eligible as a Patriot for DAR and SAR applicants. Gary will be deeply missed by his brother, Merle and his wife, Betsy, of Conway, NH; his beloved nieces, Michelle, Lori, Barbara, Kristie, and Anjie; and his nephew, Chester. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry; and his long-time friend, Parker Clements. Gary was a man of great integrity and dedication. He graduated from Winterport High School and embarked on a successful career in accounting. He worked diligently at Merchants National Bank, where he rose to the position of bank auditor. Later, he served his community as the Winterport Town Manager, exemplifying his commitment to public service. Gary's passion for public service extended to his role as the State Representative from District 99 in the 109th Maine State Legislature. He was a tireless advocate for his constituents, working diligently to bring about positive change. After his political career, Gary found fulfillment as a familiar face at the Holiday Health and Racquetball Club, which later became Gold's Gym. For over 25 years, he brightened the mornings of countless individuals, helping them achieve their fitness goals and fostering a sense of community. Even in retirement, Gary continued to contribute his talents and expertise as he worked part-time for the Maine Tourism Association. His dedication to showcasing the beauty and charm of Maine was unwavering. Gary's commitment to his community extended beyond his professional endeavors. He was an active member of numerous organizations, including the Golden Harvest, Granite, Penobscot Pomona, Waldo Pomona, Maine State, and National Granges. He also lent his support to the Brewer, Carmel, and Winterport Historical Societies, the Bangor Museum and History Center, the Winterport Union Meeting House Association, the Carmel Senior Citizen's Club, the Bangor Nature Club, the Friends of Bangor Public Library, the Friends of Fort Knox, the Searsport United Methodist Church, the Matthews Museum, the BNRC Auxiliary, and AARP. Gary's involvement in these organizations showcased his civic-mindedness and his unwavering commitment to making a difference. In his later years, Gary found solace and joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed tending to his garden, immersing himself in the pages of a good book, and embarking on treasure hunts at local yard sales. Gary's love for community potluck suppers was well-known, and in his memory, a potluck supper will be held on Thursday, November 9, at the Golden Harvest Grange on Main Road in Carmel, ME, commencing at 12 p.m. This gathering will serve as an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together, share cherished memories, and celebrate Gary's remarkable life. Attendees are kindly invited to bring their favorite dish to contribute to the communal feast. Gary L. Lowe will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his community, his commitment to public service, and his love for his family and friends. Ebenezer Wing, aged 81 years, for the past twenty-five years a highly respected resident of Appleton, died this morning at about 1 o'clock after a several months' decline in health. Death is ascribed to general debility superinduced by old age. Ebenezer Wing was born in Oneida county, New York state, and had lived the greater share of his life in Wisconsin, with the exception of ten years in North Dakota and six years in the state of Washington. Mr. Wing was a veteran of the civil war having been a member of Co. D, sixteenth Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He was also a charter member of the George D. Eggleston post, G. A. R and up to recent years one of its most influential and esteemed workers. Mr. Wing is survived in his immediate family by two sons and a daughter. They are: H. D. Wing, State Line, Miss.; E. W. Wing, Lewiston, Idaho; Mrs. S. H. Blount, Appleton. A brother and two sisters also survive. They are: James Wing, Appleton; Mrs. Sarah Prosser, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Hannah Prosser, Kansas City, Mo."
