[13279] "Greeley Daily Tribune [Greeley, Colorado], 25 March 1932," p. 8: "Mrs. Cora Stella Kyle, widow of John W. Kyle and a long time resident of Evans, died Thursday at her home. Mrs. Kyle, who was 68years old, has been a sufferer from arthritis since May, 1926, and the last five years of her life in bed. Friday she was stricken with pneumonia, the immediate cause of her death. Funeral service for Mrs. Kyle be on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Macy's mortuary. Interment at Linn Grove. Mrs. Kyle was born Aug. 15, 1963 in Barry county, Michigan, the daughter of George B. and Sara Kinney. Her mother died when she was six years of age, and being thrown on her resources, she educated herself for teaching, which she began at the age of 16. In 1886 she came to Stratton, Hitchcock county, Nebraska, where she took up a homestead, teaching school during the winter. She was married on March 28, 1888 to John W. Kyle. To them were born the following children, all of whom survive: Homer. C. Kyle, Lincoln, Nebr.; Henry I., Enumclaw, Wash.; Clover M. Kelly, Pocatella, Ida.; Norma Denver; John E., Tucson, Ariz.; Fuerstock and Blanche Kelley of Evans. She is survived also by one brother and six grandchildren. The Kyle family lived in Nebraska until August, 1901, when they moved to Evans, where they have since made their home, living either in town or on a nearby farm. Always interested in educational and civic affairs, Mrs. Kyle was active in community life up to the time of her husband's death 1926. Her illness followed shortly."
