[29950] Ancestry.com contains this unverified file in 2010: "JOHN MERRILL (Nathaniel) was born 16 Feb. 1662/3, in Newbury, Mass., and died 15 May, 1705. He was a house carpenter. About 1697 he removed from Newbury to Bradford, Mass., and about 1700 to the West Parish of Haverhill, Mass. He left an estate valued at £152,7s., but his debts amounted to £158,12s. He married Lucy Webster, daughter of John and Ann (Batt) Webster. She was born 15 Dec. 1664, in Newbury, and was living in Haverhill in 1718. (William M. Sargent appears to be in error in the Maine Historical and Genealogical Recorder [vol. III., p. 179] in saying that John3 Merrill married as a second wife 'Mary .' Administration on the estate of John Merrill was granted to 'Lucy Merrill,' his widow, 9 July, 1705.)" The unverified Sawyer Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2015 offers: "John Merrill was born on February 16, 1662, in Newbury, Massachusetts, the child of Nathaniel and Joanna. He married Lucy Webster in 1687. . . . . He died on May 15, 1705, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, at the age of 43. Lucy Webster was born on December 15, 1664, in Newbury, Massachusetts. . . . She died in 1718 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, at the age of 54."
