She is survived by her loving husband, Calvin Beal, Sr. Jonesport; three sons, Benny Beal and wife, Ann of Jonesport, Lewis Beal and wife, Sarah of Bradley, Elihu Beal, IV and wife, Donna of Marshfield; a beloved daughter, Alverna Williams and husband, Donald of Jonesport, a brother, Herman Backman Jr. and wife, Norma of Beals; and a sister, Rebecca Graves of Walliston, Mass.; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and stepchildren. She was predeceased by two infant sons, her first husband, Elihu Beal; several brothers and sisters."

He was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Chelsey, Mass., son of the late Albert R. and Rose A. (Haskell) Barbour. Charles graduated from Stonington High School, Class of 1949. Following high school, he entered the Coast Guard and then enlisted in the U.S. Army/Navy having served in Japan and Korea as a radio technician. Charles was a talented gardener and enjoyed tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. He was a gifted poet and published two books of his work. Charles was a Christian man who was very faithful to his Lord, Bible and the Christ Church of Faith in Old Town where he was an active member. The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses, staff and friends at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor for the unconditional care that was provided for Charles. Your kindness and hospitality will be forever remembered. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife, Carolyn of 10 years; brother, Maurice Barbour of Deer Isle; several nieces and nephews, three stepdaughters and one stepson of a previous marriage, two special stepsons, Michael and Timothy Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Lillian Smith."

'Ottone Argentinensi…episcopo' and 'fratres mei dux...Suetiæ Fridericus, Ledeuvicus et Galtharius' donated property in 'Scelstat villa, in pago Alsatiæ et in comitatu Beirricheim' to the abbey of Conques by charter dated 23 Jul 1095, naming 'matre...nostra fratreque nostro Conrado...defunctis'. He was installed as Friedrich I Duke of Swabia at Easter 1079 by Heinrich IV King of Germany. Jackman speculates that his theory concerning a possible Konradiner origin of Friedrich's mother could have justified Friedrich claiming Swabia for which no other genealogical basis is found, although this begs the question of the extent to which ducal appointments in Germany were based on family relationship in the 11th century. He built the castle of Stauf near Göppingen from which the family eventually took its name. The 'Gesta Friderici' of Otto of Freising records the marriage of 'filiam unicam' of King Heinrich IV and 'Fridericus dux Suevorum', naming her Agnes in a later passage. In a subsequent passage, the Gesta records the second marriage of Agnes to 'Leopaldo Orientali marchioni'. She married secondly (1106) Leopold III 'der Heilige' Markgraf of Austria. The 'Continuatio Claustroneoburgensis' records the marriage of 'Liupoldus marchio Austrie' and 'Agnetem imperatoris Heinrici IV filiam', specifying that the couple had seven children who died in infancy and eleven who survived into adulthood, six sons and five daughters. The marriage presumably took place early in the year if it is correct, as stated by Haverkamp, that it was arranged by Agnes's brother, the future Emperor Heinrich V, to obtain her future husband's support for his rebellion against their father. The 'Auctarium Mellicense' records that Agnes, wife of 'Leopoldus marchio', gave birth to 18 children. He married Mary Anne Munson and they had five children together. He then married Abigail Bartlett and they had 10 children together. He died on March 7, 1679, in Northampton, Massachusetts, at the age of 52, and was buried there. Mary Anne Munson was born in 1623 in Springfield, Massachusetts. . . . . She died as a young mother in April 1656 in Springfield, Massachusetts, at the age of 33, and was buried there."
