Mr. Bruggeman was born Jan. 22, 1914, at Leoville and was a lifelong resident of the Colby area. He was a retired banker, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Kansas Bankers Association. His wife, Inez, died in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Kay Bowen of Colby and Karen Bruggeman of Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Ray W. of Wichita; a sister, Sister Bernadette Bruggeman of Concordia; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild." Lawrence served in the U. S. Army during World War II. The 1930 federal census in Dresden Twp., Decatur Co., KS lists Lawrence (age 16) in the household of Henry Bruggeman (age 55, b. in IL of father b. in Germany & mother b. in IL) and wife Anna (age 48, b. in IA of parents b. in Germany).

[27705] Find A Grave Memorial 107923860 offers: "Nicholas, accompanied the expedition of John of Gaunt into Spain in 1386, and from that crusade assumed the tau as an augmentation to his family arms. The Patent Rolls show that he had a pardon 19 October 1427 for acquiring land in Sapiston, co. Suffolk without license. He was party to an indenture dated at Ipswich 19 September 1435 confirming the election of his son Henry Drury as one of the Knights of the Shire for co, Suffolk, and 26 January following was a feoffee of the manor of Ashfield with Humphrey, Earl of Stafford, and others. He signed a will in 1454/55." His ancestry shown here is NOT VERIFIED; it is presented as found on Ray Gurganus' web site, www.gurganus.org, in 2007 which states Nicholas m. She was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Orland, the daughter of Oscar and Emily (Phinney) Smith. Gerry was a hard worker, a good cook, loved her garden and enjoyed bowling. She married Milton P. Hopkins July 13, 1952. He predeceased her Aug. 2, 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Robshaw and her husband, Edward; husband granddaughter, Shanna Soper and her, Chris; grandson, Shaun Robshaw and his partner, Lynn Gray, all of Verona Island; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Soper, Shealynn Robshaw and Avery Robshaw; and four sisters, Maxine Atwood of Hampden, Barbara Calvi of Orrington, Emily Benson of Holden and Brenda Tinker of Bucksport. She will also be remembered special friends, Patty Bridges and Pat Bridges; and companion, Ward Grant. Gerry was predeceased by her parents; husband, Milton Hopkins, in 1992; daughter, Rhonda Hopkins, in 1953; sisters and brothers, Mila Moore, Walter Smith, Frank Smith, Ralph Smith, Charlie Smith, Bobby Smith, Patsy Witham and Sheldon Smith; and special friend, Wyone Radley.
