[35257] The federal census lists Darius in Reading, PA 1900-1930. "Reading Times, 7 July 1933," p. 24: "DARIUS M. BLATT died yesterday at his home, 618 North Second st. He was aged 74 years. Deceased was born in Jefferson township. He waa the son of the late Abraham O. and Elisabeth (Gerhart) Blatt His father died in March, 1892, and his mother in December, 1893. While a youth he assisted his father on the farm and in the milling business. At the age of 16 he entered the profession of school teaching, following this vocation 14 years. In 1909 he was elected Jury commissioner on the Democratic ticket and was re-elected in 1913. Later he assumed charge of the livery stable at the United States hotel, and next engaged in school teaching for some years. In more re cent years he was engaged in the real estate and insurance business. In 1877 he married Sallie A. Kleinglnni, who survives, together with these children: Maude, wife of Charles Holt, Reading; Dallas M. Blatt, former Reading newspaperman, now residing In Newark, N. Y.; Anna May, widow of Raymond Cramp, Reading; Bunting Blatt, Mount Clair; Darius L. Blatt, at home, and Florence, wife of Arthur Toole, Reading; also 12 grandchil dren and four great-grandchildren."
