[52685] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]." 13 January 2023: "Bridgewater - Douglas Vernon Bradstreet, 91, passed away at Northern Light Hospital in Presque Isle, on January 9, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born on June 24, 1931, in Easton, to Vernon and Mamaree (Schriver) Bradstreet. Doug attended Bridgewater schools. On April 7, 1951, he married Erma M. Green and raised a family of nine children. He was known as 'Pappy Bradstreet' or 'Pappy Doug' to many grandchildren and community friends. Doug was self-employed most of his life working in the logging and construction industry. In the past few years, he had slowed down a bit but stayed very active with his "hobby" of restoring antique cars, trucks, and tractors. He was a member of the Bridgewater Free Baptist Church serving both as a Deacon and on the Board of Trustees for several years and also participated in the Nursing Home Ministry at the Mars Hill Nursing Home. Doug was a longtime member of the Bridgewater Fire Department serving as an active member from 1951 to 2021 and as an honorary member up until his passing. Doug volunteered countless hours to his community. In 2003, he was awarded Firefighter of the Year by the Maine State Federation of Firefighters. Doug is survived by four sons, Steven and wife, Trudy, Bob and wife, Julie, Terry and friend, Tammy, Troy and wife, Nina, all of Bridgewater; and two daughters, Janet Bradstreet of Florida, Barbara Carvell and husband, Robert of Presque Isle; a daughter-in-law, Heidi Bradstreet and fiancé, Stan, of Ashland; life partner of Edward, Randy Ross of Florida; 18 grandchildren and their spouses, Leigh, Jill, Kari, Beau, Luke, Matt, Mark, Kris, Reid, Jon, Eric, Billy, Jeremy, Doug, Mike, Noah, Nick and Sophia; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Donna Spaulding, Keith Bradstreet, and Vella Griffin; friends, Cherry Cowan and Richard and Judy Trecartin. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Erma; sons, Edward, Gary, and Ronnie; daughter-in-law, Gloria; siblings, Arlene, Dana, Pauline, and Susan; Dale and Dan Lowe. Doug will also be missed by many members of the community where he lived and served."

[2493] http://www.guide2womenleaders.com/womeninpower/Womeninpower1100.htm reports "1122-25 Regent Dowager Countess Petronella de Lorraine of Holland-Zeeland and Friesland (The Netherlands) - The widow of Floris II, she was regent for son Dirk VI 1122-57 together with the Counts of Egmond, Rijnsburen and Middelburg. She was a very able ruler and acted forcefully in the interests of her sons. She funded various convents and also played a part in the politics of the Holy Roman Empire, trough her half-brother, Emperor Lothar III - the son of her mother in her first marriage. 1133 she withdrew to the Convent of Rheinsburg, which she had funded herself. She was daughter of Duke Dietrich II von Ober-Lothringen and Hedwig von Formbach, and was originally named Gertrud." Also see http://www.geerts.com/holland/holland-2.htm.
