") offers: "The Hon. Ephraim Jones, M.L.C., known also as Mr. Commissary Jones, was the ninth son of Col. Elisha Jones (1710-1775), M.L.A., J.P., a Loyalist, and a great-grandson of Lewis Jones (1600?-1684), who migrated from Berkshire, England to Watertown, Mass., in 1620. Ephraim Jones (b. April 27, 1750. d. January 21, 1812) had lived in the Mohawk Valley in the province of New York, and had served in the Seven Years War, apparently, for which he received a pension. He was one of the earliest settlers in Elizabeth Town and one of the earliest merchants in Brockville. He was a J.P., a Member of the Land Board for Grenville and Leeds, of the first Parliament of Upper Canada (1792-6), representing Grenville, and of the Land Claims' Board (1800-1). He was twice married, having issue by the first wife only. H is first wife was Charlotte Coursolles ("obiit 28th September, 1803, Aet. 50"), a daughter of Michel Coursolles (or Coursol?), of Verchères. His second wife was Margaret S. Beek (or on the tombstone "Beke"), who died 'January 9, 1852, aged 84 years,' The most distinguished of his six sons were the Hon. Charles, who married Mary Stuart, q.v., and the Hon. Jonas, who became a Justice and the father, among others, of Mrs. John McCaul, Mrs. John Strachan, Jr, Mr. Clarkson Jones, and the Revd. Professor Jones, of Trinity College...."

[9351] Edwin was agent/operator for the Illinois Central Railroad at Kinmundy, IL, agent for American Railway Express, director of the Kindmundy Building & Loan Assoc., alderman of the third ward of the city of Kinmundy and sec.-treas. of the Kindmundy Schoo District. "The Kinmundy Express, 4 April 1957," p. 1: "Edwin Wormley, youngest child of Englehart and Caroline Rhinesmith Wormley, was born in a log cabin at Kinsman, Illinois, December 3, 1870 and passed away at his home in Kinmundy, Illinois, at 6:45 P. M. March 25, 1957. When two years of age, he moved with his parents to a farm southwest of Alma, where he lived until his parents died, when he was yet a small boy, six years of age. Mr. and Mrs. Smith McCullough opened their home to the three Wormley children, namely Frank, Mae and Edwin and reared him to manhood. Edwin began his railroad career in 1891, working in Montana and South Dakota. On January 1,. 1896 he was employed at Alma, Ill., by the Illinois Central Railroad and worked for this Company for 57 years, serving various Stations along the road, as agent and operator, including 7 years at Savoy, and 46 years at Kinmundy, where he was working at the time of his retirement In 1953. On September 28, 1898, he was united in marriage at the Rohrbough family home to Katherine Grove. This beloved wife and companion passed away on December 6, 1936. To this union were bora three children, Lorentz Englehart, Eugene who died March 14, 1937 and Helen Katherine. His chief interests outside of his home and family were his garden, sports and traveling. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Telegraphers holding a Life Membership in that organization; member of Kinmundy Lodge No. 398 A.F. & A.M. and Kinmundy Chapter No. 606, O.E.S. Mr. Wormley was always interested in the betterment of the community and had served 25 years as Secretary of the Board of Education, was a member of the City Council and had Just recently retired as president of the Building and Loan Association. . . . Besides those named he leaves to mourn their loss a daughter-in law, Geneva S. Wormley of Sacramento, Calif., a grandson, Dr. Lorentz E. Wormley, of Yuba City, California, granddaughter, Phyllis Jeanne Adams of Palo Alto, Calif., and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Linton Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Orlando Brakemeyer, of Altamont, officiating. Interment was made In Evergreen Cemetery under the auspices of Kinmundy Lodge No. 398, A. F. & A. M."
