Mrs. Daniel N. Fulk died of the infirmities of old age, January 7, 1905 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Poe, after a lingering illness, aged 81 years, 3 months and 27 days. The maiden name of the deceased was Miss Lillie Mitchell. She was born in Clinton County, Ohio, September 10, 1823. She was married to Daniel N. Fulk in her nineteenth year. They moved to Scotland County, Missouri, in the spring of 1845 and settled on a farm eight miles north of Memphis. Her husband died August 10, 1899. Since which time she made her home with her children living in this county.

Another pioneer of this county has passed away. She was a beautiful character, a devoted wife and mother and a good neighbor. While her voice is stilled in death, her virtues live in the memory of all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. Funeral services were held in the church at Hitt, Monday, January 9, Eld. M.J. Niconson, of this city, officiating, after which all that was mortal of Mother Fulk was laid to rest in the cemetery.
