[23783] "Medieval English Ancestors of Certain Americans," Carl Boyer III (Santa Clarita, CA, 2001), p. 81: John "married Grace de Tracie, whose parentage is unknown, contrary to the long held belief that she was a daughter and heiress of Henri (or William) de Tracie, lord of Barnstaple, who was a natural son of King Henry II." See also "Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists...7th Edition," Frederick Lewis Weiss (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1992), p. 184, which also disputes that William de Tracey is father of Grace!
