Vera is daughter of Harry Moise Gebo (1907-2003) & Anna Marie Douglas (1911-1978). "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 25 May 2021: "Winthrop - Vera Estelle Dyer, 89, died May 18, 2021, at Maine General Medical Center. She was born August 20, 1931, in Newport, RI, the daughter of Harry M. and Anna (Douglas) Gebo.
Vera moved to Maine and attended Stockton Springs High School, and soon met Richard 'Eddie' Dyer. After marrying in 1949, together they operated the Sail Inn Restaurant in Prospect and began a family that includes: Constance and her husband, Steve Sisson, in Ellsworth, Richard and his wife, Mary, in Winthrop, Brad and his wife, Shelly, in Bangor, Christine and her husband, Chris Gray, in Port Orange, FL, Paul and his wife, Sheri, in Prospect, and Robert and his wife, Luanne, in Surry. Vera was dedicated to the Prospect Historical Society and worked extensively to document grave records for area cemeteries. She was also an active member of the Sandy Point Congregational Church. Vera enjoyed active relationships with her Sail Inn restaurant family of employees and patrons, a favorite group of 'bingo' friends, and most of all her large extended family, which included her children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandchildren include, Chad Sission, Amy Sisson, Reed Dyer, Katie (Dyer) Avebe, Ami (Dyer) Willard, Johannah Dyer, Clarissa Patchell, Derek Findlay, Corey Findlay, Rusty Gray, Luke Grindle, Alec Dyer, and Cody Dyer; and great-grandchildren, Edin Sisson, Cloe Sisson, Shayla Eubanks, Kiera Eubanks, Kendra Eubanks, Chase Dyer-Payne, James Avebe, Estelle Avebe, Hayley Willard, Noah Willard, Annah Pritchette, Veronica Patchell, John Patchell, Samantha Findlay, Trace Findlay, Logan Findlay, Connor Findlay, Jordan Findlay, Mia Gray, Remington Grindle, and Case Dyer."
