He was a former farm laborer; attended Upper Mahantango Twp. schools; and was a Protestant. Surviving are four sisters, Beatrice Schlegel of Sacramento, Pa., Ethel Hatter of Hegins RD 1, Eleanor Hoke of Lebanon and Lila Lucas of Donaldson; and four brothers, George of Toledo, Ohio, Kenneth of Donaldson, Robert Jr. of Hegins RD 2 and Marlin of Tower City."
