[59424] https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/collaborate/KZ3P-FP2 offers: "He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1837. He tried practicing dentistry. He lived and practiced in Eliot. Physicians in Eliot had thist o say about him: 'Dr. Calvin Haven Guptill practiced in this town for 40years. He began his studies with the senior Dr. Trafton of South Berwick. While a student of medicine, he gave much thought and attention to dentistry; he later studied and practiced with a dentist in Boston. He began practicing as a physician in Dover, NH about 1841 for 4 years. Here turned to his native town for a short time, but soon returned to Eliot. Besides his duties and labors as a physician, he did a great amount of dental work in his early years. He was very successful; completing his work skillfully on plates of gold. He is remarkedly ingenuous, making all his dental and many of his surgical instruments. His notably retentive memory enabled him easily to recall medical facts and events. He was of a positive religious thought, a constant attendant of the Congregational Church services; the superintendant of the Sabbath school; and one of the public school committee members. Many more young men studied medicine with him than with any other physician of this region."

Find A Grave Memorial 7930907 offers: "He sailed from London on Jan. 2, 1635, landing first in Virginia and proceeding to Boston. In 1637, he settled in Hartford as a founder, where he latter married Anna Lord. He was Interpretor General for the Colonies and established a trading post in Pawcatuck about 1650. The Founder's Monument in the cemetery states: 'He was Marshall of the Colony,County Commissioner, member of the General Court and one of the founders of the First Church in Stonington. A man of widespread and lasting importance to the colonies, and identified with nearly every transaction between the natives and the colonists up to the year of his death.' Thomas was 62 years of age when he died. As the progenitor of a long Stanton line,he and Anna had 10 children, all of whom had children of their own." The posting in Find A Grave states he was b. in Nottinghamshire, England, and doubts that he parents are proven.
A major article about Thomas is in "Great Migration: Immigrants to New England, 1634-1635, Vol. VI," Robert Charles Anderson (Boston: NEHGS, 2009), pp. 467-474.
