Drei seiner Brüder fallen im Kampf gegen die Spanier, er selbst wird 1584 ermordet. Juliana erreicht ein für die damalige Zeit hohes Alter. [1347] Ichabod was a millwright; built 1st mill on Narraguagas River; in Gouldsborough and then Cherryfield; served in War for Independence from Narraguagas 17 Dec 1778 to 19 Dec 1778. 1850 census reports that dau. Susannah was born in "Portsmouth, N.H." Ichabod's other children are given in "Maine Families in 1790," edited by Ruth Gray (Camden, ME: Picton Press, 1988, p. 289; Maine Genealogical Society Special Publication No. 2), where his wife's surname is reported as Bumford. "Soldiers, Sailors & Patriots of the Revolutionary War - Maine" states that he was a Sgt. during his military service and at that time resided at Machias - this is also reported in "Mass. Soldiers and Sailors...", p. 410. He and Elizabeth were the first settlers of Cherryfield in 1773. "Early Pleasant River Families of Washington County, Maine", Tibbetts & Lamson (Camden: Picton Press, 1997): "Thomas Willey (c1617-1681) came probably from Lancashire, England to Oyster River {Dover, New Hampshire} by 1645.
