Brillhart, 82, Branson, Mo., died Wednesday at a nursing home in Forsythe. He was born in Astoria, Mo., and had llived in Holden, Mo., before moving to Theodosia, Mo., in 1970. He had lived in Branson three years. Mr. Brillhart was a carpenter and farmer before he retired. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the Branson American Legion Post. He was a member of the Theodosia Methodist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Grace Brillhart, of the home; three sons, Melvin Brillhart, Holden; Dean Brillhart, Ogden, Ill.; and Don Brillhart, Winfield, Kan.; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren."

George is "of Edworth," Bedfordshire, England. Of interest is a marriage in the parish register of Eyeworth [sic], Bedfordshire 30 Oct 1563 of Robert Ingersoll and Cecily Grante. An Ingersoll/Inkerstall research page on the Internet ( 12/97) is: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/1163/inger.htm One researcher states George was b. in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. The surname Inkerstall probably means limper's byre. "A Genealogy of the Ingersoll Family in America, 1629-1925," Lillian Drake Avery (NY: The Grafton Press, 1926), p. ix: "The name 'Inge' is Scandinavian and is first identified as the name of a celebrated Scandinavian Chieftan or Lord by the name of 'Ingebar' who came into England with the invading Danish folk and settled in Middlesex and adjoining counties. This 'Ingebar' bequeathed his name as a surname to a large number of English families, as for instance such families as Inglis, Ingram, Ingolsby, Ingelow, Ingoldew, Ingerson, Ingelside, Inge, and Ingersoll. It may be noted here that Inge, son of Harold, King of Norway, lived in the twenfth century, (Patronymica Brittannica-Lower). The name Ingersoll is partly of Scandinavian and partly of French origin. The name is not a corruption of Inkersall. His parents, Jesse and Catharine (Barnett) Mohr, were natives of Pennsylvania and of German parentage. They came to Ohio in 1842-43, and located in Wayne County, residing there eighteen years; then to Ashland County, stopping eight years, and finally to this county, settling where our subject now resides, Six children of the eleven are at this date living - Catharine, Cecilia, Harry, Isaac, Lyman and Anna M. The father died in 1878, in his seventieth year; the mother is still living in her seventy-first year. Mr. Mohr remained with his parents, and worked on the farm till twenty-three. He was married, March 19, 1868, to Miss Amanda Crites (see sketch of Jonas Crites), and their children are Ardellus L., March 23, 1870; John N., May 31, 1871; Alice L., born November 20, 1872; Ida M., September 12, 1874; Catharine M., November 3, 1877; Jessie J., August 14, 1878; Clara B., March 5, 1880; Walter H., November 10, 1881. Mrs. Mohr was born June 22, 1848. After his marriage, Mr. Mohr rented several years and then purchased his present farm of eighty acres, his brother Henry owning one-half. It is in good repair and provided with a comfortable frame dwelling, costing $900, in 1880. Mr. Mohr is a Republican, his wife a member of the United Brethren Church." Mrs. Wardwell is survived by 13 sons and daughters, 64 grandchildren, and 54 greatgrandchildren. Always active in the religious social and civic movements of the town, she will be missed by a large circle of friends who knew her as a kind neighbor, a faithful friend, and valued advisor. She was the widow of Frederick Wardwell, who died some years ago. She is survived by eight sons, Charles, Percy, Raymond, Vergi,l Ralph, Frank, Gustine and Harry Wardwell, all of Castine, and by five daughters, Mrs. Laura Dunbar, Mrs. Pearl Leach and Mrs. Emma Pinkham, all of Penobscot, Mrs. James Hatch of Castine, and Mrs. Bert Bowden of Stockton Springs."
